I’d the dude had a gun in his hand, which it sounds like there is no doubt of, he was definitely trying to carjack him. That cops acted quick, decisive, and with deadly force. One less thug we gotta worry about.

LMPD has its moments but this was as good of a shoot as it gets.
Also, the Dad’s excuse for the kid explains SOOOO much.

Zero issue with this.
If a person attempts to take a persons property while using a firearm, that person commuted a violent crime and i have zero issue with someone else not hoping the bad guy may or may not shot during said crime

He not only had a gun in hand but he was also wearing a ski mask. I’ve grown up with some Portland folks and if they were going for a joyride in an abandoned car, they’re not wearing masks.
This is textbook FAFO. And unmarked LMPD cars are easy to spot.
