And, Sammy Tiger, I am obsessed with ending ALL forms of child abuse including child sex trafficking, child slavery and the child abuse that is gender affirmation.

NYTIMES

A prominent doctor and trans rights advocate admitted she deliberately withheld publication of a $10 million taxpayer-funded study on the effect of puberty blockers on American children — after finding no evidence that they improve patients’ mental health.

Taking hormones has awful side effects particularly on a growing body

Birth control pills are pretty awful for you too but you arent allowed to talk about that

Unacceptable. So much for putting the patients first. Revoke that woman's license immediately.

The fact that this shite is allowed to go on at all shows how vulnerable people are to group think and fear of being ridiculed for speaking out against the vocal, sky screaming minority.

Bravo to everyone who has fought this shite at every step along the way. Anyone who participated in giving CHILDREN puberty / hormone blockers deserves their genitals to be smashed under a hydraulic press.

Hopefully, the fact that the NYT published an article like this indicates we are entering into a new zeitgeist.

I particularly enjoy her argument that her anecdotal and completely unbiased observations should outweigh the data from her study and a similar British study.

A lot of girls and women are prescribed birth control not to prevent pregnancy but to regulate and ease symptoms of menstruation.

The leader of the long-running study said that the drugs did not improve mental health in children with gender distress and that the finding might be weaponized by opponents of the care.

So, this sow didn’t want opponents of puberty blockers, and chemical castration drugs being administered to children to “weaponize” the fact this study proved they had no benefit to the child. That’s her reaction as a scientist and doctor? Instead of “following” the science, she put her leftist political agenda above all.

Leftists are pure scum and she’s a prime example of why.

Yes but they are in the minority

Much like women who get abortions with rape or incest

While i am against given children puberty blockers outside of legitimate medical reasons, this isn't the smoking gun you think it is.

it didnt find it helped OR hurt these individuals on a mental level. Its a relatively small set of people, 97 i think is what i read. The researcher states that it could be attributed to those in the study started in an already positive mental state. thats pretty subjective unless they had some type of objective scoring system in the study at the start. it didnt mention here.

it could be an interesting finding. id like to see the raw data and study.

that being said, the biological implications of early puberty blockers on children in long term effects can be disastrous. THAT is why we shouldnt be doing it.

Yeah, same old same old. Same for adults. The guy that started the sex change surgery program at Johns Hopkins (the gold standard for that kind of stuff) concluded that not only did the surgery not improve the well being of those thst had it, they were More likely to be suicidal afterwards.

You can identify as a Shetland Pony if you want to. But all the surgery and drugs in the world won’t make you one.

to continue the practice without evidence that it helps is barbaric. seriously, think about what that sentence says in reference to giving medication that isn’t reversible no matter how many people claim it is. giving puberty blockers to a child is life altering. is there another “treatment” for any other condition that we apply the same standards to?
