Got two teenagers with newly-acquired learner permits. That means I will be logging some of the 100 hrs (50x2) they need over the next couple of days.
We have plenty of firework stands where we live, but I'm wondering if there's another state or specific stand that has good prices. If so, I could get "free" transportation there--figuring we could reach borders of TX, MS, AL, maybe AR, and definitely just about anywhere in LA.

I don’t think it’s smart to risk your life for cheap fireworks.
You really trust them to travel that long of distance and they only have their learners permit?

And, since I'm doing the same thing for both (they're twins), I figured they could split up whatever drive we take--change drivers every hour or so. Worst case, we get to somewhere they can't drive, and I'd take the wheel myself.

Wait until 5pm Monday and drive to Port Allen and back. That should be your 8 hours.

Save your money and don’t buy fireworks. Use it for insurance.

Buy the fireworks in Port Allen and drive to Lafayette/Scott area for boudin and other tasty treats.

That's my question. I thought you just took the driving test with some perpetually constipated state trooper.

There is a place in Picayune called Turks. He sells whole sale. You have to spend at least $500 though.

I believe there is a stand in Plaquemine that has a sign in front, "Buy one, get 20 free." It's next to the Ochner emergency room clinic.
