Would you give a tip to a Chipotle worker that asked for a tip?

I walked up to the counter and ordered my food. A worker that I’ve seen there previously, makes the food and asks for a tip.
At first I thought, Sure, but after thinking about I decided No.
My thought is food getting placed on a counter does not deserve a tip. Tipping is for service, not spooning rice, beans, and chicken into a bowl.
Am I wrong in thinking this way?
Now I have to dodge whatever poison/spit/etc that’s going to make it’s way into future orders.

Did he/she actually verbally ask you or is it just an option when you pay?

Absolutely.
I definitely have some quality advice that in could give someone that wants a life tip.
It’s just a simple thing we can do for one another and just pass along helpful hints and tips for life

If they verbally asked me for a tip I would tell them “Stay in school so you don’t have to keep working at Chipotle. There is your tip.”
If they just turn the little screen around and ask for a tip I normally just them a dollar or two.

Verbally asked it.
Then walked over when I was paying to see what I was going to put in the tip jar.

Don’t take any wooden nickels.

Yes.
Tip #1
Chipotle is not a career job.

That would be my last visit to that particular establishment.

No. I assume they make at least minimum wage right? They are not like waiters who depend on tips. No one owes them anything, they are being paid to do that job.

There really needs to be a tipping board

Maybe best thing is to walk out and go to a restaurant where you actually get waited on.
Won't be long before the self checkout kiosk at Lowes will be asking for a tip.

Tipping has gotten out of control. Literally every establishment wants a tip now (and not just restaurants).

I might. I can't usually predict my behavior ahead of time.

Was she cute?
If so you should probably give her more than just the tip.
If it was a dude, promise him Tree Fiddy at a future date in BawCoin.
