Went Coyote hunting on my land last night with a buddy and he let me borrow his rigged out gun with a can on it. I’m looking for suggestions on a can I can use with a 223 or a 6.5 Grendel or 6.5 creedmoore.
Any thoughts?

What platforms (bolt vs gas)? What budget? What priorities (compact vs total sound suppression vs first round pop control vs weight)?

Gas. Sub $1500. Just want to have it to where it can decrease noise. Not very serious on any weight or anything as it will be on a standing tripod

That kind of budget will get you the best of the best.
I love me some CAT suppressors.
Their new suppressor that CAT ST should work just fine.

You would have to wait for the ST but they have some in stock options you can go with. The white bread and alleycat 556 would be good instock options.
The difference between all of those. White bread shortest with highest flow rate, alleycat is standard size which is optimizing sound performance.
The st employs their newest tech but it’s designed tj be their most versatile across differing barrel lengths and gas systems.
These are general recs.
Since you’re probably not burning it down with mag dumps you can go titanium.
Just because it’s so widespread I would stick with something HUB.

Just got my Omega in. It took 1 month and 3 days to be approved.

Are you wanting something that can be used for all 3?

There's so many options in that budget that its difficult to recommend. AB raptor 8 is my standard suggestion. Light, great performance, proven design thats been around a little while.
I wouldnt stress the backpressure thing. You can deal with it with just a buffer change usually, and low backpressure cans are usually louder than standard ones.

Yes. Ive got three main AR platform guns that I’d like to swap around on.

Go do some research on pewscience and you will see that 3d printing technology has really changed the industry and the generally accepted truths of days past are no longer true anymore.
And also no matter how much you do with buffer weights and gas blocks it’s still resulting in more recoil and gas in the face than the alternatives.

I didn’t realize you were wanting one for all three.
In that case go 30 cal can.
The cat odb is great, otter creek infinity is the best 30 cal can performance wise on 556, if you can wait the cat akb is likely another great option.
Again I would still go titanium Hub versions.

The advancements apply across the board. The best flow through suppressor cant be as quiet as the best sealed one.

I had a good experience today getting the ball rolling on my first can & a traditional NFA Trust for anticipated future cans at the Silencer Shop in Leander TX. I was looking for an exclusive caliber 556/223 for an AR15 rifle. They steered me to an Echocore Sector 556 Compact. Great people there that made it easy for a newbie like me to understand.

My recommendations will both be CAT cans as well, because I own several and love them. I’ll preface this by saying Gen 1 CAT cans have two versions; the “civilian” version and the “military/duty” version, which is the Alleycat line. They are pretty easy to find currently, so I will recommend them over their civilian version, as they are a little better in performance due to some slight extra length (they say an extra baffle).
If sound suppression is the priority, look into an Alleycat 308. Since you are mainly predator hunting and off a tripod, the negatives of this one kind of get nullified (it’s longer and a little gassier, although still not too bad). The civilian version is the JL (Johnny Law). It does very well on 556/223 despite being a 30 cal can. It’s mainly intended for bolt guns, which is why it lacks the gas management of the next can. But if you’re shooting yotes mainly I don’t see how it’d be an issue. It will definitely be the quietest of the two.
Next would be the Alleycat 762. It is designed for gas guns, so it is better in that regard. It is shorter and therefore lighter. It also performs very well on 556/223. It’s civilian version is the ODB (Ol Dirty Bastard).
Hopefully other folks will have experience with some other options to chime in with, but these are the ones I can speak on.

Gunwerks 8IGHT Titanium
Unbelievable buy at less than $1300. You can buy bored reducer caps to shoot pretty much anything through it. I didn't think it was possible to tone down a 556 like it does, pretty incredible.

The Liberty Precision Machine Anthem S2 is a good 30 cal option that offers really good suppression (see PewScience data), is pretty economical, and would leave you plenty of budget for muzzle devices/mount.

I only shoot coyotes with an AR in 5.56. Originally I was using an original Sandman and that can with the thermal, the gun was very heavy.
I wanted to get something that was lighter and went with the Cat WB. It's a flow through and is my 1st flow through. It's the TI version.
Can weighs nothing. it cut about a pound off the weight of the set up.
The lack of gas in your face is something that I didn't anticipate noticing but it is very noticeable shooting a flow through vs high back pressure.
The WB is ridiculously quiet. Enough that I've had people stop me on the range asking what can I was using.

I got a Q Full Nelson for my 300 BO, and swap it around on a 5.56, 6.5 SE, 280 AI, and 30 Nosler. It may be "optimal" for 300 BO, but it's magnum rated and makes a world of difference on deer rifles for recoil and noise management.

That statement is not factual, especially when considering different hosts and where you are measuring the suppression differential from
