On a gas gun you need to make a a few decisions. Either;
A. Get an adjustable gas block.
Or
B. Play with buffer weights.
Or
C. Switch to a piston setup.
Each has pros and cons
Also, to mitigate gas in your face either buy a purpose built charging handle or (if you’re handy with a dremel) drill a port out the side of your changing handle and build a dam of black silicon around the top of the charging handle, like the picture in the link below.

Or get a low back pressure can with “hybrid” tech that performs well at the muzzle and the shooters ear which doesn’t need tuning but performance can be enhanced via adjustable gas block and if the most performance wants to be squeezed from the platform, both buffers and adjustable gas blocks can be utilized optimize the performance of the platform.
