This makes me happy for them. That guy is cleaning up the country and I hope they are rewarded for choosing him as their leader.

That’s the sound of China being marginalized.

I doubt there exists 3 trillion in recoverable gold in El Salvador alone

The total worth of all gold on the planet is estimated to be ~14 trillion

By who? Those that trade in Gold and need to keep its value high?

Did you believe Peak Oil was what 10-20 years ago?

It's amazing how we keep finding more oil, natural gas, gold, etc.

Almost like the Earth may STILL be naturally producing them?

You sound angry about that. Why so angry? Its not like it will be proven, one way or another, in your lifetime. Plus, the price will fluctuate greatly as this goldis recovered over time. So it could be 3 trillion at some point, even if it isnt currently

Hubert who predicted peak oil showed tight shale formations in the 1950's but until geosteerable drilling was invented and perfected offshore LA, no one knew how it could be extracted. The same goes with actual oil shale in the Rockies. It has to rock mined, then pulverized and finally retorted to recover the vapors. We have known how to get to those over 1 trillion barrels but not below $84 per barrel cost just to get out of the ground.

Nutter talk based on claims made in a field offshore Louisiana which kept refilling before we understood subsalt oil deposits were pushing the oil up via a fault in the salt layer,

Pushing oil up from where? Another reservoir below? Or is it being squished out of the formation into the reservoir?

The more they find, the less it's worth.

Geological pressure pushed up oil from below the thick layer of salt.

The late 90's is when oil from below the salt layer began being discovered thanks to new software to help seismic surveys to be able to see below the salt.
