Should have kept moving south as part of manifest destiny back when people would actually assimilate. Its too late now, but if Mexico had been taken 120 years ago it would have been good. Tons of resources, a much smaller boarder to protect, and the people could have ended up mostly being contributing members of society, instead of what they are when they come over now. Plus without pandering about immigration they would probably be a pretty reliably conservative voting block of tens of millions

Mexico is a shitshow. It will never get better because a lot of those same cartels control the Government and some national military forces.
