DEMOCRATS are the anti-constitutional party - They see the CONSTITUTION as an IMPEDIMENT to their agenda. They would LOVE to just have a batch of BALLOTs determine EVERY issue in the future.

The sharing of power between small States and large States drove the electoral college, and the differences between how House members and Senate members are appointed.
The small States would have never agreed to a straight democracy one person -one vote system.
I’m fine with the Left changing the way the number of Senators is allocated, and dropping the electoral college to a straight popular vote, BUT they have to let the States that want to leave the Union do so.

You should have read it all
You literally highlighted the words “when elected” in Art 1, Sec 3, as if that proved your point. The system of appointments is only used for cabinets.

Always be suspicious of people who correct "Republic" with "Democracy."
100% chance they want to destroy constitutional protections.

That's federalism, which is a 4th aspect of our government.
We're still on the first 2: democracy and republican versions of government
then once everyone understands why we are a democracy and a republic, we can move onto the 3rd aspect: a constitutional system
then once everyone understands that basic comment, we can get into the federal nature of our system.

Pointing out idiots for political points.
Making your opponent look loony has been a part of democracy since Greece

We are a democracy and a republic.
We are little "d" ( ) democracy and big "R" Republic.
Big "D" Democracy is mob rule.
Ergo, the more we move away from a Republican form of government to a Democratic form, we're moving towards (and the left embraces) mob rule.

By definition, a republic is a representative form of government that is ruled according to a charter, or constitution, and a democracy is a government that is ruled according to the will of the majority. Although these forms of government are often confused, they are quite different.
You are confused…

This is why our country is so fricked. Rather than dealing with real issues, both sides think it is more important to argue over linguistic nuances.
The perfect case of pugnacious concurrence.
I really hate both sides right now.

We haven't done this, at least since the 17th Amendment (which brings in the constitutional nature of our government, which they aren't ready to discuss yet).
The rise of the Bureaucracy is an extreme rejection of democracy and increase in republicanism, in fact.

No that's a bad definition, but, regardless, still applies to us in most areas.
