Can we use Democracy to vote someone off of the island?

That's a question relating to the constitutional nature of our system, as the constitution determines the limits of both the democratic and republican aspects of our government.

OK - Mr. NIT-PIK
quote:

The Constitutional nature of our government is a 3rd concept.

well now - so you admit the the NARRATIVE is the primary thing to consider in our political discussions!!

You want the 'sound bite' = "TRUMP is a THREAT to DEMOCRACY" to the fundamental argument for this next election.

The FOUNDERs wanted a the STATEs to control almost every aspect of normal life - operating under a concept of freedom and liberty established by the CONSTITUTION which the federal government would guarantee - plus - defend the entire union from external threats.

AND - they provided a means for the GROWTH and EVOLUTION of fundamental governing principles - all you have to do it get an AMENDMENT passed to change the CONSTITUTION.

And there you see the conundrum - the Democrats despise the amendment process - EVERY issue they harp over could be resolved with a constitution amendment - IF they could just enforce their wet dream of a DEMOCRACY = "just let us assemble enough ballots to overwhelm whatever the deplorable plebs may desire in the form of their votes."

/\ THAT /\ is the wet dream of the Democrat party which you slobber over.

Possibly the greatest post I’ve read on this site! Straight. To the point. Subtly at a 9.9.

Their NPC talking point was countered by just as idiotic of one from MAGA.

The difference is the Left is better at the game and makes MAGA look like much bigger idiots than MAGA can make the Left look in this instance.

I think you're mistaken, Tigah. As is common with Leftists, some of them know the evil they do and some are just stupid and go along.

I agree, and you can say the same about conservatives. I vote republican but lately I’ve had to hold my nose to do so. As I said before, both sides are fairly deplorable right now.

Their dream is a direct democracy where the constitution isnt in their way. Which is why they push the "Our Democracy" angle so hard.

As much as I hate it, we are technically both a republic and a democracy.

Ask these dims if they can tell you the difference between what democracy and republic stands for and they have no idea. Honestly the republic keeps them enjoying their fringe interests

Not all republics are constitutional.

The UK is a democratic republic without a constitution, for instance.

A republic denotes a representative form of democracy. You can have a non-democratic republic (where representatives are appointed by other government officials) and a non-constitutional republic (like the UK)

Meh, you should know why they are saying it. Because the democrats want to get rid of the Republic part. It’s pretty simple but your NPC brain doesn’t get it.

Of course we have elements of democracy, but the left is ruling or trying really hard to rule as a true democracy . That is the only reason many say what they do. Just STFU already you fat frick.

Which is why he pushes the Democrat position.

I don't think they do.

They do want to attack a very specific democratic process (the electoral college), but they're not arguing to get rid of their reps (and their reps sure as shite aren't arguing that )

The biggest fight going is access to the democratic systems of our government. The Left wants more access. The Right wants less access.
