Louisiana Board of Regents Vice Chair T. Jay Seale III has resigned, calling Gov. Jeff Landry's recent appointment of Misti Cordell as chair of the board "deeply offensive."
Seale said that Landry "put someone in charge who was loyal to him" and that service on the board would be "a charade whenever the governor wants to order something to happen."
Seale said he also took issue with the fact that Landry made the decision without notifying Gary Solomon Jr., who until this week was chair. He also noted that Cordell is new to the Regents, having only been appointed in January and sworn in in March.
"It would be like taking someone who was just elected to the House of Representatives and after a few weeks in the House, making them speaker," said Seale, who was appointed to the Regents in 2017 by Gov. John Bel Edwards and reappointed in 2023 for a term running through December 2028.

Seale, a Hammond business attorney, was a campaign contributor to Gov. John Bel Edwards and to Edwards' brother Daniel Edwards, who was the longtime sheriff of Tangipahoa Parish. Seale was also general counsel for the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office under Daniel Edwards.
Cordell's husband, J. Hardeman Cordell V, is president of Central Oil & Supply, and both he and the company are Landry political donors.

Only Dems cry when politicians appoint loyalists to jobs yet every single politician in history has done it and think their cushy job is sacred.
Trump needs to fire every single federal employee hired during a Democrat administration. Dems and the media will cry about an attack on our democracy and try to start impeachment hearings but it's within his delegated powers to do and is pretty typical of an incoming administration.

Is this guy new to politics?
This is common. If an appointment falls under the authority of the governor, they will use it.
Does he know John Bel Edwards did the same?

Does the Governor also get to name a replacement for the Vice Chair since he is resigning?
Two wins for the Governor??

A significant “day 1” task is the immediate termination of the judiciary placed by the Dems.

Sooo…
Let’s review.
“Louisiana Board of Regents Vice Chair T. Jay Seale III has resigned”
“Seale, who was appointed to the Regents in 2017 by Gov. John Bel Edwards and reappointed in 2023 for a term running through December 2028.”
“Seale III has resigned, calling Gov. Jeff Landry's recent appointment of Misti Cordell as chair of the board ‘deeply offensive’."
“Seale said that Landry ‘put someone in charge who was loyal to him’.”
“Seale said he also took issue with the fact that Landry made the decision without notifying Gary Solomon Jr., (also an Edwards appointee) who until this week was chair.”
“Seale, a Hammond business attorney, was a campaign contributor to Gov. John Bel Edwards and to Edwards' brother Daniel Edwards, who was the longtime sheriff of Tangipahoa Parish. Seale was also general counsel for the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office under Daniel Edwards.”
It would appear that Landry gets the removal of an Edwards flunky who got paid by the Edwards brothers will public money to donate money to them?
Winning!
