None of that shite makes any sense, nor will it ever. You house gets wiped out by a random tornado? Hope you have insurance. But if enough of your neighbors get wiped out, then you deserve a check. Is losing your house not as big of a financial hit if you're the only one?
FEMA came by my house after Michael with a clipboard, asked me my income, and walked on. Which is about what I expect out of FEMA.

No. There are income limits

Hopefully that’s political suicide in NC and Georgia. The government should be ashamed but I’m glad they sent Kumguzla to deliver the message.

False. I got $0 for the derecho and Beryl combined. I did get a $400 gas bill though.

Ah, I didn't know about the income limits. Some of the warehouse guys and drivers talked about how they got the $750. And some got an extra $300 without any damage to their houses—just for the inconvenience of being in a designated county.

750... that's basically a tank of gas, and 2 weeks worth of food from a grocery store.

They get more than that when you include subsidized health care

I think they were touting the 750 figure for Francine too.
They were also touting get an extra 300 bucks if you needed to clean your house for mold remediation. Most Mold remediation wouldn’t even touch a 300 dollar payout. They start in the 4-5 figures to milk that insurance money.
FEMA will also probably start touting the Generator and Chainsaw reimbursements too which can add up to about a grand now.
I think if memory serves me correct after Ida, if you lost your entire home, the most FEMA would provide was around 36k if you had no insurance or SBA Loan eligibility. I think this was from a CBS news story about dude from Dulac that was living in a tent or truck with his family because FEMA kept giving him the runaround because of an issue with ownership. FEMA fast tracked his case because the news got involved.
CBS News Dulac Man FEMA Assistance
As far as other assistance that I have seen, FEMA could provide a FEMA trailer for some people as much 2-3 years after the storm as long term assistance or hotel rooms as short term assistance. Now they are trying to collect rent on the ones still living in FEMA provided trailers.

If this isn’t a landslide, we’ll never win again.
