how did everyone else fare? My house is 30 yrs old. This rise and last year are probably in the 35% range. Thank you Joe Biden and your inflationary arse.

Does St. George have an affect on this?

Thank the voters too. They passed new taxes for the COA, Mental Health and blindly renewed BREC and Library taxes even though they have nice cash surpluses. Oh and thanks those boards that chose to tax the full amount when they could have rolled the millages forward.

My tax rate didn’t go up, but all my millages got “rolled forward” so my taxes went up 20%. F$&k ‘em.

The insane amount of $$ I pay for CATS - a completely worthless endeavor - gives me severe gastric distress.

Mine was about the same as last year. But my homeowners insurance went up 70%. FML

The Parish finally reassessed property to align more closely with actual market value. This should've been done years ago.

SG doesn’t collect property taxes.

Our WFP property tax is up more than 40%. It's ridiculous.

This. It’s like people just see a tax and blindly renew or vote for it and wonder why their tax bill keeps going up. EBR needs to start voting down any new or renewal of property tax.

No, Mainly just reassessment.

Same. 36% simply with a stroke of a pen by the accessors office.

True, but perhaps EBR, pulling in less property taxes with SG's departure, is looking under every rock now.

Now take a look at the "fees" they are charging for this and that. Meanwhile, their salaries skyrocket.

St George is still in EBR, so that money isn’t leaving.
If St George were becoming part of Ascension or Livingston, or forming a new parish, that would be different.
