My Dad retired as a Major in Marines, he passed away in 2000. He loved the corp and everything it stood for, I wish he were here today to see this.
BTW, the dress blue uniforms of the Marines is the best uniform in the military. I can remember my Dad wearing his and even as a young girl just staring at how cool it was.

I think he's had a rocky road in his personal life for quite a while. Kind of like he can't function outside of the Corps and the "celebrity" of the MOH kind of screwed him up (plus other things, I'm sure).
Feels like this is his way to get back to where he's most comfortable instead of doing the BS glad- handing, fake smile corporate tour all the time.
