There's a new subreddit that's figuratively setup to fellate Union General William Sherman

i don't know what's worse:
/shermanposting
/politics
not sure if they're left leaning or right leaning since technically, the "old north" was heavily populated with republicans. they're take on the TX and boarder situation though.... very left leaning. it's almost like a completely different belief/policy system all together. not even libertarian-like.
they also believe in the great flip... old republicans are now democrats and old/racist democrats are now racist-republicans. one of they're arguments? "go call a Klansman they're a democrat and see what happens."

If Sherman were to burn out Atlanta again, who would benefit more?

You should have known that Reddit hates black people.

But they virtue signal to the contrary.

Ask them this:
How many republican congressmen switched to democrat when they suddenly started being racist?
How many democrat congressmen switched to republicans when they suddenly started being racist ?
Answer is 1. Exactly 1 congressmen switched parties during the supposed great party switch.

A few of those are legitimately funny.

The Left cannot meme. It's amazing, but they just cannot do it.

Sherman would hate the current US government. He did what he did out of empathy because he knew the war was decided and wanted to put the South down quickly. IIRC he wanted much more favorable surrender terms for the South than what they eventually got.

Sherman and Grant were lucky that John Pemberton was an idiot. Had he readied Vicksburg properly for an extended siege they might still be trying to break into the works there.
Pemberton could have broken Grant's army against those works but instead they got starved out.
Evacuate the civilians lay in the supplies and let Grant and Sherman attack and lose men. They couldn't stay there forever.

But Grant wasn’t going to run out of supplies at that point.
Even if Vicksburg had supplies for a year, they would be limited. If they could hold out, I wonder what the South’s plan would have been to rescue/save it?
Where would the rescue army come from, how long would it take, and what impact would trying to save Vicksburg have on the rest of the war going on?
Chickamauga and Chattanooga probably look vastly different or don’t happen at all.
You’re probably looking at another Shiloh level fight at some point somewhere near Vicksburg.
That delays Grant going east, if he ever ends up going east at all.
It’d be fun to see a civil war scholar play out a well supplied Vicksburg like you suggest.

Would have to find one first. I’ve lived my entire life in the South and have never seen a Klansman dressed up in his white robe. Never met one to my knowledge.

Didn’t Obama order a drone strike of a U.S. citizen?

What President waged a war that was overwhelmingly unpopular in the nation’s largest urban cities?
What President unleashed combat troops from the battlefield to assault citizen protestors in New York City?
What President unilaterally suspended the writ of habeas corpus and arrested thousands of private citizens in the dark of night and held them in political prison camps?
What President ignored a Supreme Court Justice’s ruling that the suspension of the writ of habeas corpus was unConstitutional and should be reinstated?
What president had a newspaper editor arrested for criticizing the suspension of the writ of habeas corpus?
What President had a sitting member of Congress arrested for criticizing the suspension of the writ of habeas corpus?
What President had his soldiers bombard and destroy newspaper buildings and newspaper printing plants that were critical of the war effort or even dared question the President’s policies?
What President was involved in telegraphic censorship of newspapers critical of the President’s policies?
What President declared he would abandon the U.S. Constitution to save the Union?
What President said he cared not in freeing the slaves but only in saving the Union?
What President is uniformly hailed by the leaders of the Uniparty® as one of the greatest Presidents ever for “saving the Union”?
Lincoln would love the Deep State.
