I’m a Protestant Christian and I can’t agree with this more.

The moment when it goes to dark is genuinely a spiritual moment. I’d love to bottle that up and sell it.

I saw a lot of small towns throwing all kinds or costly events thinking all these tourist were going to show up. A lot of them wasted money.

Watched it in Plano with my wife and two kids, one of whom I'm sure is old enough to remember it for the rest of his life.

It was partly cloudy, but I think it worked out just as well as a clear sky because the clouds were juuust thick enough to let us watch most of those final few minutes entering totality unaided, soaking it in with the surrounding area. Plus it made for some really dramatic photos.

Also found out later that my doorbell cam recorded the moments of totality. That was kinda funny.

Saw it in Indiana, totality close to 4 minutes. Pictures simply don’t do it justice- one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen
Also in Indiana. just west of Indianapolis. Best thing since the meteor shower I saw in the 2000's

This is what fricked me up after months of PT. We were in the 86% zone and it wasn't worth it.

I intereted is most of the hysteria in terms of mainstream media writing clickbait reports trying to get clicks. So they write something like "dispelling the latest conspiracy theory about the eclipse" and cite examples like some random dude posting non-sense in a tweet. They try to sensationalize everything to generate clicks.

We based out of the McDonalds in McLeansboro, Illinois because it was directly on the line of totality. It was our base in the morning because of access to power, and internet, and food. The town of 2,765 was packed, with the town square full of eclipse watchers, and heavy traffic. Once we were confident of the cloud models we moved to our final spot on a hilltop about 10 miles away that we'd picked out. People had set up in random farm fields all over the place. Once totality was over we booked on out, because we'd watched the partial phase already, and it honestly is almost boring after you've been watching totality. Traffic was somewhat of a bitch getting to St. Louis, and we were among the first on the road. People who went down to Cape Girardeau had a long delay in getting back.

I'd love to do it again, but that's probably my last dance with a total eclipse.

We were lucky enough to have dead center totality pass over our house during the last one. It’s really kind of “meh” up until those final moments but when it gets to 100% it truly is a HOLY shite once in a lifetime moment to look up and see that in the sky.

When you see that it really awe inspiring and pictures don’t do it justice.

It shows that God has some pizzazz; he can show off.

That he made the earth and moon at the exact size and distance to exactly eclipse each other is brilliant.

That looks like when the moon was staring to move away and the pink streamers were going crazy on the right side of the moon. The brilliance of their color is what was striking.
