Someone really needs to a study on the speed with which they turned out Mike Johnson, just instantly converting him into a completely different human being after just a few months of being made Speaker.
You almost have to find it impressive.

Oh, I think he has. We are all aware of who the true Mike Johnson is.

They had to have threatened him or bribed him. What other explanation could there be?

Possibly that we don’t have a super good grasp on how the sausage is made.

This was in December on the staircase in the capital building. Paulie told Mike how the sausage is made.

I don’t know if you can take too much from that. But it’s we who more likely are in the dark about the sausage making. More specifically I believe many of us are either unable or unwilling to acknowledge the sometimes unpleasant truth that compromise and negotiation must play a central role in order for any “business” to be conducted within the legislative branch of government. And it’s quite possible that many of us forget the unavoidable fact that for each one of us and our expectations there are many, many others who they represent whose expectations and demands might differ - from a little to a lot. Hence the compromise and negotiation thing.
Notwithstanding the above, there is the possibility that they don’t get it right for anyone’s benefit. The question becomes how much benefit of the doubt they should be extended “behind the scenes.” One thing I believe is very often botched by them is the failure to explain themselves, in reasonable detail, as to why they’re doing what they’re doing. That’s what causes most of the distrust. It’s on them if they aren’t up front about their actions and agenda. If they want the benefit of the doubt, that’s what they should immediately work on in a big way.

Here's the thing. We bitch about these people constantly.
Yet, the percentage of U.S. Reps re-elected is some number like 90-95%. U.S. Senate is like 80%. Hell, that may be even higher, I'm just going off of the eye test and conversation.
So until voters pull together, you will be bitching about this stuff for the rest of your life.

Who is bitching?
Pointing something out is not bitching.
I’m just making some Republicans aware that this is their party. I think the Democrats suck as well. There really is no difference between the two.
I agree. Until we get out of this two party mentality nothing will change.

Threatening the life of your wife might do that.
