I would put my state in the conversation. I've lived in both La and Ak.

The food is amazing, people are friendly, and there are some great places to hunt and fish.

This may be kind of odd but I grew up in BR and I can say without hesitation that it has THE BEST tap water in the country by far.

I've visited probably 2/3 of the states in this country and live in Texas and I can't even drink the tap water here. Not sure what they're doing to it in BR but I wish they'd do it here.

I personally love the hot weather. I’m good for that once every 10 year snow.

Walked out of the office this morning, felt the heat, went to the mexican store for meat and beer.

I'll be alternating Victorias and Crystalino Spritz for the remainder of the evening.

BR sits on top of a natural aquifer which is where the drinking water comes from. It's a very soft water. It's certainly nothing the state or government did

Jeff Foxworthy once said, "As long as there's a ditch on the side of the road in Louisiana, nobody's going hungry."

Predictable weather

The area around Donaldsonville is quite scenic

Monkey Hill in New Orleans is worth a visit if you like high altitudes

It has towns named Sulphur and Port Sulphur

Stay with Al Scramuzza, and you’ll never be a loser, 1826 North Broad.

North Louisiana doesn’t have a lot of flashy stuff going on, but some places up there still have usable public schools and low cost of living.

I’ve lived in several different states. The people are friendly everywhere. You can find good food everywhere.

It's an objectively very cheap place to live

Lived in numerous states as well, not "very cheap" anymore with housing and insurance. Plus it's routinely #48/#49/#50 worst state to live when education, healthcare, job opportunity and crime is factored into the mix.

Many here feel it's the best state, with the best city and best food in the world..To each their own.

yes it is, objectively. You can’t make any legitimate, data based argument otherwise.

The fishing. That is the beginning and end of the list.

You can make the Louisiana food anywhere. Hell, the food board cookbook will get you pretty much settled for Louisiana food.

Baton Rouge is a bigger shite hole than New Orleans, at least New Orleans has decent places to go and do things.

I grew up here, the bad areas use to be confined to two zip codes in Baton Rouge, now it has spread to the entire city, even the fabled St. George.

Northshore might be the saving grace, but if that fails I am going out of state.

If I could spend every day on the marsh then Louisiana is heaven on earth, but I have to go into the cities to live, and well they are run by crooks.
