When I watched it the first time, I didn't recognize how great it was in the moment. But I love the opening tracking shot from Outlaw King. The amount of choreography and timing involved is just amazing.

Touch of Evil

Great choice. The unnerving tension built up with so many people at risk totally unaware of the presence of danger is so well done by Wells.

Because of the revelation midway through the film of the poignant emotional and sentimental significance of the Toby Mug purchased in the opening scene, my favorite scene is from Twelve O’Clock High.

the opening of Raising Arizona until the sun is setting in the desert and the yodeling kicks in is my favorite of all time.

Rushmore is pretty solid as well.

frick Inglourious Basterds was my vote too.

QT could have a few nominations. Reservoir Dogs opening scene introduces us to Steve Buscemi and the tipping debate.

The opening to Independence Day was pretty awesome, especially with a nice surround sound system.

Rocky III.

A recap of Rocky winning the title, then he is doing commercials between title defenses while Clubber is on the streets training, all set to the awesome Eye of the Tiger. A perfect opening to the movie.
