Have you ever lived in an absolute shithole apartment / house?

The thread about more youths living at home got me wondering if the younger generations are just not as willing to live in shitty dwellings in rough or far flung neighborhoods to be on their own.

I think I'd have rather lived 30 minutes farther from everything in a shack than live at home as an adult, and most of my friends lived in some sketchy parts of Baton Rouge when we were starting out but still made it out of the house. Felt like that was the norm up to 15-20 years ago and not as common now.

The worst one Scruffy lived in was the apartment complex across Burbank from Walk-ons.

Tiger Pointe

Think the pool is filled in with dirt now.

Tigerland when I was a senior. Shag carpet and complete shite hole. Condoms in the pool and passed out people everywhere.

It was glorious.

Kirby-Smith Count?

Lived in a 100 year old house on State St. with three other degenerates. Certifiable shithole.

Yeah me too but this was over 25 years ago and the TL apartment was nicer for about the same money

If you dropped something on the floor at my apartment on State it would roll to one side of the room the floor was so unlevel.

I rented a trailer in a park once that the carpet would lift up and hover when the wind blew hard.

It also had every ground in the trailer ran to a single outlet that would send electricity through the trailer skin and knock out our cable at the pole.

But it had a waterbed

The first apartment I lived in in Gainesville was a small studio. Homeless people bathed naked in the pool, part of the raised pool deck collapsed on my car roof, sewage backed up in the shower, and one night I woke up around 4am to my hippie drug dealer neighbor tapping on the window to play with my cat.

My friend went to pharmacy school at ULM and stayed in a tiny trailer for years there. Guy had no shame and no debt.

Dorm room freshman year of college would be the worst place I have ever lived.

All part of the fun of growing up back in the day (unless you got killed).
