BATON ROUGE - Deputies said they arrested a man after a bank robbery and ensuing police chase who they believe is connected to several other crimes.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to a bank on Bluebonnet Boulevard for reports of a bank robbery. Deputies were able to chase the suspect vehicle down Highland Road and onto the Interstate, where they hit another vehicle near the Perkins Road exit.

The suspect fled the vehicle on foot and was arrested.

Depends on what bank. Only one side of Bluebonnet is St. George.

Unless it was the Regions Bank near the Bluebonnet/Perkins intersection, this happened in the unincorporated area of BR, not St. George.

ETA: it was the united Community Bank on Bluebonnet which is on the St. George side.

"Several other crimes"... took the Sheriff to take them down, not the BRPD. Viva San Jorge!

Is it still a thing? I remember 10-15 years ago you’d see a lot of threads about it on here but not many the past few years.

It’ll be NICE for St. George to have its own police department to remove some of these criminals off the streets. I’m liking St. Gorge better and better every day!

They need to build a wall around the city like a castle, and add a moat with alligators.

I don't know if it is still there, but there was a Hancock Bank on Bluebonnet that seemed to get robbed every week. That was back in the 90's.
