That's something that can't be checked, but would be a gracious exit. If one such exit were deserved.

Define "Dems". Dem voters and the DNC are not the same. The DNC absolutely DESPISES their voters. If you'll recall, Dem primary voters tried to give the nomination to Bernie twice before the DNC stepped in to put a stop to it. They're not risking that again. They make the switch either during or right after the DNC convention so that the party elites get to select Joe's replacement instead of having it go to their unhinged voters.

He already flew to China to meet with Xi, and then actually put forth a temporary effort to clean up SF so that Xi could pay a reciprocal visit.
Been saying this from the very beginning. If it's not going to be Biden, it's Newsom, period. He will regain the minority vote and automatically receive the votes (both legal and illegal) of every 18-60 progressive and every Range Rover driving suburban Karen from coast to coast. Forget Mike Obama, because he doesn't want to be anywhere near the White House again. Forget Oprah because she wouldn't do it. Forget the rest of the field because they've all got very public egg on their faces.
If/when they have an "event" staged that results in Biden no longer being able or fit to carry on the rise and continue his campaign, the replacement is Newsom.

I'll disagree with this, and here's why: They MUST replace Biden for their cheating system to have even a puncher's chance. Biden is so unbelievably unpopular, and the D Party is hemorrhaging voters at such an unprecedented rate that the only way their cheating pathways could have an outside shot is to have a candidate who is markedly less radioactive than Biden. You have to close the toxicity gap that Biden presents between where they currently are and what takes them within the "margin of error" where their capability to cheat thrives. Hence, Trump's "Too Big to Rig" goal.
This is where the Michelle Obama theories come in to play. Whomever the change of batter is, they stand their best chance in the smallest window possible from their reveal to Election Day. The longer that span of time, the greater the possibility that damning information about that replacement candidate can be revealed by Trump's team.
Now, it gets fun when we start to consider what might come to light in the scant period of time after Moochelle being parachuted in as the replacement nominee that torpedoes their candidacy.

Once the ballots are printed through Election Day, per This ABC News piece from January where they wargamed the whole thing at various points along the calendar
