There is no way Ole Miss is a better school than LSU. I’m not saying we are Vanderbilt, but damn we are certainly better than Mississippi.

Ouch.

I'd be curious what the rankings were 20 years ago, if they even did them then. I'd assume LSU would have been more middle of the pack then, trending upward.

I am little surprised Texas and Florida aren’t flip flopped. Maybe it’s partly due to Florida’s lower in state tuition, but I haven’t looked up what US News uses for rankings.

LSU is better than Arkansas and Ole Miss.

I like how they have Ole Miss over Bama as well, though.

I’d like to know what determines this. My company has employees from every single SEC school and Ole Miss kids are consistently the dumbest.

Miss State kids are actually pretty well prepared on the other hand.

Bama should be really embarrassed at that ranking based on how much money they've thrown at facilities, student recruitment, subsidized OOS tuition, faculty salaries, etc., over the past couple decades.

some quotes from LSU - a case study for promoting diversity

quote:

LSU’s shift toward holistic admissions standards, which deemphasized standardized testing and placed more importance on recommendation letters, personal essays and extra-curricular activities, came in 2018 under the direction of former President F. King Alexander

quote:

Alexander said the success of holistic admissions not only vindicated him but serves as an example for the rest of the nation.

If we came out for the Anthem could we jump into the top ten?

If it's anything like a few years ago, their test scores are worse. I don't think they have many highly rated departments and at least LSU has a few.

Now, LSU has relaxed admissions to an embarrassing degree, so it may not be the same these days.

Imagine how proud he’d be if it had actually been a success.

As much as I hate TU, they should be ranked ahead of UF. UF has a low acceptance rate because the out of state demand from Jewish kids in the Northeast is extremely high. They simply don’t have enough slots to fit the demand. Everyone wants to go to school in Florida right now.

It’s really hard in the current climate to close the door to the idiots and the unqualified that F. King left wide open.

This has been the biggest complaint the few times I've read about current lsu on here per parents.

I wonder if those students last long or are they carried through the curriculum
