Yeah frick that place. Almost went there last year, but we ended up going to Disney instead.

Now it’s crossed off the list. Was gonna try for next year.

So brave.

The missus and I had a disagreement about this when we discussed it last week.

Told her I felt bad for them, but it was their own damned fault for sheer stupidity.

How the frick do you have "stray ammunition" in your fricking suitcase? Regardless, if you are in the habit if transporting ammo in your checked bags for whatever reason, you should be verifying you have it when you reach your destination and unpack. There should not be any unaccounted for/"stray" ammo anyway.

In other words, these guys were sloppy as frick and got bitten on the arse for not knowing the laws of the FOREIGN COUNTRY they were visiting.

T & C will likely quietly find a way to return these assholes, but these political figures need to shut their fricking mouths because as long as they are stoking the flames of this story, T & C isn't going to let them go.

This should pretty much be the takeaway from this entire thread .

I do think 12 years is harsh for what was probably an honest mistake.. But i dont make the laws.. So if you cant be bothered to take some extra time to make 100% sure you are in compliance with the laws of another nation, then stick to 30A or Panama City Beach or whatever .

T&C can do whatever it wants

And they can deal with the ramifications if they endure fallout from the hands that feed them as a result.

Same people downvoting this, were pulling for Brittney Griner to stay in jail, that's the funny thing.

c'mon, now. there's a big difference between accidentally having a two or three loose rounds of ammo in a bag and purposefully taking illegal drugs into Russia.

Is one of the options not bringing shite into another country that isn't legal there?

While I agree with this dont you agree fricking 12 years for this is a little extreme?

Will I get 3 years if I get caught jaywalking? How about 2 years if I get a ticket for speeding?

You go and have fun

Like I said too many other options if they want to treat tourist like this...

This guy could have gotten a death sentence for jay walking and dudes in this thread would be like “He should have known the laws! This place is really nice and totally not a shite hole!”

They won’t do 12 years. Turks is just gauging how much $$$ they can shake out of the Americans.

Simple as that.

Yeah, wear a mask!

Now, back to the point of the thread, the time is nigh for a US military invasion of Turks and Caicos.

People who are equating jaywalking with packing guns or ammo in ur luggage truly are clueless .. Are T&C (and many other countries) over the top in re to gun regulations ? Maybe, maybe not… All i know is i dont blame them , id rather error on the side of caution and over enforcement , lest their countries turn into a shithole like the USA , with an insane gun culture and mass shootings that happen on the regular with zero changes ever being made to stop it.. but that’s a whole other thread .

That country isn’t America.

Don’t bring that shite into another country.

How many people in this thread gave Britney Griner shite for bringing MJ into Russia?

Griner should still be in prison there.

These guys fricked up and should face the consequences as well.

Don’t bring shite you aren’t supposed to have into foreign countries.

The difference between Griner and these 3 is that she intentionally broke the law.

They all broke the law in a foreign country.

They should have checked their suitcases before leaving.

A loaded weapon or at minimum the weapon that matched the rounds in their bags, harsh, but I can still get my head around the 12 years. But just the rounds? Cmon......12 years is waaaaay over the top whether you ardent rule followers want to say so or not. Lot of real by the book law abiding, judgmental citizens in here. I'm sure all of you would be saying the same if it were your son or brother that made the same stupid mistake.

If you're traveling internationally, ALWAYS:

- check laws, regulations, etc., so you don't frick up
- check the State Department website
- know where your nearest consulate or embassy is, because if shite hits the fan, that country could give zero fricks about your wellbeing. You aren't a citizen.

If this 10 minutes of effort is too much to ask, just stick to Branson or Pigeon Forge.

Every illegal breaks the law when they cross our border. And we hand out free shite and let them take jobs away from other legal citizens.

Maybe if we gave them 12 years prison we wouldn’t need a wall. Actually should be 20.

There is no difference, Griner said she packed quickly and didn't know it was in her bag.
