Can’t wait to find out what the true story is here. Perfect kid does everything right, has a tragedy and mean ol school is being cruel and unfair. Yeah I’ll believe it when I hear it. It doesn’t add up.

I also knew a guy who was not allowed to graduate from Shaw because he and a couple friends walked into a grocery store on Halloween wearing costume masks and the store manager called JPSO, whose deputy arrested them on suspicion of intending a robbery. Charges were dropped of course but the Archdiocese resented the negative image that any good Catholic boys could get arrested.

It was later revoked because I wasn't in the top 5% of my graduating class as required - by 12/1000th of a point.

My niece that just graduated with her masters accidentally was given a scholarship as an undergrad. Some obscure but significant scholarship reserved for POC. Niece is a typical redhead, so white you can almost see through her. Oh well, discrimination is illegal anyway. (they did not renew the scholarship though) Sis and BIL were happy since niece was out of state at UGA, more than covered the fee.

The story is the school is going to give this kid a diploma but not let him walk at graduation

I’d have taken this option in a heartbeat if it were presented to me.

What is the deal with Louisiana public schools and freaking uniforms? I get a dress code but they’re so serious about damn uniforms.

I grew up in Oklahoma and that was not a thing at all. This is the dumbest shite ever but then again it’s Louisiana public schools so..

I think schools should have no rules that would solve all these problems!

Why are we not asking why the kid had to go to a Saturday detention?

Sounds like a classic case of didn't do anything.

Something similar happened to my kid at a LP school. Never in trouble but not allowed to walk over a minor infraction the last week. As long as we can pick up the diploma the day after the ceremony like they promised, i’m fine. I’ll reserve my rage-baiting for if it turns out they lied and don’t give it to us. This story would be newsworthy if told but we would rather just get the diploma and be done with the LP school system.

Every few months it's something new coming out at Walker High. The problems start at the top with administration. It with athletic, academics, pick and choose who has to fallow what rules.

Never been to Walker but all the Walker threads make me think that it would have a lot of skanks.

Because Saturday detention shouldn’t stop a kid from walking at graduation if they’ve met all academic requirements.

Is this the same school district that had a grad issue because of a prom party?
