Running and quit eating baw. I went from a 36 to a 30, but I wouldn’t think of a 36 as having a gut lol.

By all means please educate me. I read it as the guy is measuring at 36 inches in circumference when measuring around at the naval. If that is the case it is HIGHLY unlikely that person only has a body fat in the mid teens.

depends....36" isnt that much when measured around the naval strickly. most guys that were a size 32 jeans would prolly be around that

I think you're being too sensitive. This thread (and many others) prove that most people these days just don't have a good understanding of exercise/diet/general good health. See all of the "I'm 5'10" and weigh 250 pounds, and I need to lose 20 lbs" comments.

Your post made it seem like just stopping carnivore made you gain weight, when it was really that you were eating more calories than you were burning. Yes carnivore can be great because you can be really satiated on less calories, but there isn't anything magical about it.

thank you, thats all i was saying

Quit making excuses for lack of time to exercise. I work full time and have 3 kids. Up at 430 am to get my workout in most days. If you don’t have the motivation to move your body, please stop whining.

What do you think a man 5-10.5" should weigh?

ideally-

• Waist - 31-32” (45% of height)
• Shoulders – 51-52” (73.5% of height)
• Chest – 44-45” (63.5% of height)
• Arms – 16.5” (23.5% of height)

thats pretty close to ideal(adonis) proportions. at 5-10" that would prolly put you in the 175-185 range and that is for someone that is natural and lifts his arse off for years.

most of the OT at 5'10 should not weigh above 175 if they want to be at a healthy body fat of below 18%

i mean just in the 80s and even into the 90s, 15% bodyfat was considered average and normal. we have fat fricked our society so bad that now....thats considered amazing.

A massive part of not gaining the weight back is to very very slowly reintroduce other foods back into your diet and very very slowly increase your calories to maintenance. You want your maintenance phase to be at minimum as long as your diet was.

yep a proper reverse diet

but hottytoddy knows better....im just a plant baw

I got a particularly nasty case of covid in 2021 that put me in the hospital. Very nearly died. Dropped from 190lbs down to around 170 in like a month or two. Dropped from a 36 to a 34. Kept that weight off.

Had a bad breakup last year. Largely stopped eating, had to stop drinking because I wasn’t able to stop once I had more than 2 drinks. I don’t think I cooked anything for 3 month (usually cook 80% of my meals myself). Didn’t exercise beyond walking a little. Dropped from around 170 down to under 160 lbs. Even my 32 pants were starting to get baggy.

Unfortunately, when I recovered emotionally, I started eating again, drinking with moderation, and the weight came back. Now, I’ve really started watching my portions, cut out snacking between meals, no longer buy junk food, etc. I’m a lot better about going to the gym and getting regular exercise.

I’m conflicted on what to do about the alcohol. I started drinking again more heavily around Mardi Gras and REALLY enjoyed it. I seem to be happy social drinking again instead of sad drinking. Yet, I feel like I’m playing with fire, and that the alcohol can’t help my attempts to get the weight down. Also, a couple of my favorite drinking buddies have largely gotten sober or switched to pot, something I can’t use due to my job.

I was coming in to say that the OT’s resident dietician may check in if she’s not been kidnapped.

I’m 31.75-32 around the naval per my MD (which is a performance based more modern type of preventative care practice. I wear a 32 inch waist pants from 25+ years of heavy lower body Olympic lifts. Nobody save for maybe that psycho that used to post here would say I even have maybe more than a stray pound or two to lose. But I’m still always testing in the mid teens body fat wise using all measurements.

Mid teens is pretty lean and you see a decent amount of definition. 10% is only obtainable by exceedingly rigid lifestyle. Especially in your 40s

i agree but there is a difference in needing a size 32 jeans due to leg size than due to stomach size

and true 14-15% dexa scan is pretty lean, not perfect but pretty damn good. if most on the OT got to that, they would be 100% better off.

its funny though, the fat guys of the OT will say, only need to lose 20 and "i would be a skeleton if under 200 pounds" yet brag about how ripped they were in HS and college at 175lbs.

makes zero sense

She’s pretty replaceable. All he has to do is start seeing another coworker like he did to his last wife.

Not being sensitive at all. Just was making the point that when you go carnivore, it flies off fast, but comes back quick. Other people in the thread have said the same thing. After being satiated, if you don't do it properly it flies back on.

it doesnt come back because you stopped carnivore. it comes back because you ate more calories than you burned.

that was the point i was making. carnivore is just a diet strategy too easily allow you to be in a caloric deficit. its not some magic diet

once you stop, still have to track calories to make sure you are not eating too much for your activity level.

wait so let me get this straight...im a plant baw

1) because i have an engineering degree
2) because my kids play sports and im involved as a dad
3) because im in shape and S&C is a passion of mine

i dont own an f250 and destin is for lounging on the beach, not baseball. poverty teams play in that world series.

despite what you might think, there is about 99% chance i have more education and am way more successful than you are and about a 99.9999% chance im in better shape and no way way way more about fat loss, S&C, performance training, diet, etc then you could ever hope to learn

i didnt attack you, you attacked me. Sorry you cant understand basic fricking thermodynamics and have to stoop to bullshite. but if you want to go that route, i can verbally spar too fat frick.
