I can't recall that far back, nor can I recall what was in my first 8-track case.

I recall a few early cassettes I had, mostly homemade, recorded from vinyl. Several from the following artists.

Doobie Brothers
Styx
Led Zepplin
Foreigner
Dire Straits
David Bowie
Alice Cooper
In my senior year in high school, Pink Floyd's "The Wall" dropped. I think I listened to that nearly nonstop for 6 months.

Back then or now?

I had a 1970 Ford Maverick then a 1977 Mustang II Mach 1. That mustang was a 2.8 liter v6 and a hatchback. Really not a Mustang at all. But I liked it.

I had the little fake cassette tape with an aux jack that I could plug an early mp3 player into. That mp3 player held roughly 100 songs, ranging from late 60’s rock to the post-grunge and pop punk which was popular at the time (2007).

Yellowcard, Zeppelin, Guns n Roses, Skynyrd, Blink, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Audioslave, Sum 41, Hendrix, etc were all represented by probably 4 or 5 tracks.

How about 8 Track car player? Iggy and the Stooges first album, Deep Purple- 'Book of Taliesyn' and Traffic- 'Last Exit'. I think when I finally got a car cassette player first tape was an old copy of Best of the Amboy Dukes.

Seems like the trend here is white boys who grew up in the 80s who also abused the 10 tapes for 1 cent promo...

Great List CAD throw in AC/DC STYX and some Tom Petty and mine was about the same. Also Ozzy , Flock of Seagulls, Van Halen and Bob Seger.

Diary of a Madman was my favorite cassette in HS.

i got irrationally angry when i got into a car with someone who could afford both a new tape deck ****AND**** and under-dash EQ screwed into the vinyl

i was feeling all bad arse with my jensen triax speakers and then this f@g shows up with an EQ that makes my music sound like an AM radio.

I flipped burgers and steaks at Stoney's and Golden corral all through high school for $3.35 a hour so I could blow it all on my POS car. Man that was some fun times and I would go back and do it all over again if I could
