Always about the defense.

The defense held us together..that's great... the Pelicans offense held OKC together, so...

Do yall expect Griff to come out and say that the team is capped and changes absolutely have to be made? Anyone really think he's going to trash BI? You think Griff's going to say he's looking to make trades and thus back himself into a corner when negotiating with other teams? People are making political talk sound like a bad thing when it's exactly what he needs to do when there is a scenario that other teams outbid your moves and you end up disappointingly running it back.

BI with no accountability, which tells you why the habit never changed...on his lack of 3pt shooting:
quote:

BI mentioned a lot of his threes during his all-star season were catch and shoot, as result of Jrue Holiday and Lonzo Ball

And yet Jose, Naji, and Herb all took more 3s per 36 than BI.

And that's not to mention the touchy subject that angers posters when I point it out, but we abandoned a style of offense more suited to help BI with more catch & shoot 3s because he didn't like it, and he wanted to be the point forward. Now he's saying someone else should have been passing him the ball more.

Exactly this. He said enough in his 20 minutes to let everyone know he's not pleased and doesn't want to run this back without blaming anyone individually. I almost think he said too much about it for the reason quoted above. How he's able to act on his words is a different story, but there's no reason to freak out about what he said today.

Just saw BI interview. When asked about shooting more 3s- he said the year he did he had Jrue and Lonzo getting him open catch and shoot 3s. When asked about getting a point guard on the team could help? Hes like yeah it could. Different from Griff who didn’t completely feel point guard was an answer. He didn’t say this out loud but seemed like its lot of pressure for him to create.

Also mentioned that even though it was a joke about CJ trying to call us- that its important we stay connected to figure out what to do.

Not a lot of I want finish unfinished business in nola talk here. But interesting that he clearly stated we need a pg in his own way. Seems like he thinks hes staying but again Im sure he hasnt been told otherwise.

Yeah, Griff already said they haven’t sat down and talked to the players individually yet, those talks would come when that happens.

Yeah sorry just posted same thing but he blamed it not having a pg. While Griff stated its about basketball IQ- I kind of agree with Griff- at certain point you need to be the creator and take better shots. If you make that much money- we dont need to have to get you a pg- especially since you wanted to be that creator to begin with.

With the differing philosophies I have this feeling that this may be the year Griff actually does move BI.

In BI's defense, Zion wasn't Zion for about half the season, but it's still a BS answer because he plays with someone that assists on 3s at a high rate in Zion.

quote:

Shamit Dua @FearTheBrown

Zion was 9th in the league in 3pt assists just leaving that information out there

Top 10, how many true point guards?

Or in BI head he doesn’t believe in Point Zion as an actal point guard. We already know hes not a fan of point Zion at all. Which is crazy because we’re fully leaning into that.

Again this will be an interesting offseason in what we do with BI.

Maybe stop dribbling the ball for 18 seconds and someone might be able
to pass it to you for an open 3.

That’s because in BI’s head he’s the best player on the team and Point Zion is affirming that he’s not, so he wants a PG so they take the ball out of Zion’s hands too

So basically we’re back to he hates point Zion and this offense and is blaming them for his lack of 3s lol

Please Griff hopefully you now know what to do with BI this offseason.

Griff isn't going to have the balls to trade b.i. for 75 cents on the dollar. That's my major fear. He's going to try to get KD or some shite and end up extending him saying "well we tried but ingrams value blah blah blah"

The pay for shooters who create is different than pay for people who are mostly only shooters. One is paid max and the other is paid like Tyler Herro ($120M/4).

Its a legit fear.

He cannot be seen to lose a trade, that's just how he is.

He is going to want a STAR. Not youngens and picks

If we extend BI that contract will become borderline untradable unless we attach assets.

That’s my biggest fear

You may be right but theres some clear issues between the philosophies of what BI wants and what Griff thinks this team needs. The key to me is the extension- if you dont extend you HAVE to trade. There is no other option. Letting him just walk is a massive failure.

There's no way he will walk for free
