In general, I like my job and the people I work with. Of course there are things/people/situations that aren't my favorite, but it's not a constant 'I hate this place and these people'

The absolute worst part is being a contract employee in the oil & gas industry. When things take a downturn, you stay nervous/anxious about your project getting cut.

I use to, not anymore now, last month of work for me , then retirement for me at the end of this month, it’s been real and it’s been fun, but not real fun

My actual job is whatever. I could take it or leave it.

My work environment is so great that I feel bad for it. Wife and I both work from home, make well over HHI median income. So far, all of the teams I've been on have been great. I work M-F, no overtime necessary so far. I've eliminated the Sunday anxiety feeling that comes with having to load up in the car, make the commute, etc. Still a little bit of Sunday anxiety that I feel is baked in from childhood with school and all, but I don't think it could get much better than what I have right now. I don't even set alarms anymore, because I know I'll wake up anywhere from 6:30-8 and that's fine for my job. It actually feels like I've done something wrong and I'm not playing by the rules.

On top of that, I have thick woods separating myself and neighbors, a spectacular view, and silence 95% of the time.

I do, but it's bad for my health. So much stress.

Same boat. I'm chained to a desk 9 hours a day and there's intermittent waves of stress involved. It's wearing on my physical and mental well being. I feel like I spend most of my free time trying to undo the damage caused by this - like going to the gym, doctor, mental health escapes, etc.

I'm thinking about quitting and just starting over simply for the sake of my health. I daydream about some simple task job where I get my daily dose of exercise and interact with happy, sane people, even if it pays much less. We only get one life and one body. You can't go to the store and buy another when you trash the only one you get.

Absolutely dread going, lunch is the best part of the day. We got bought out and the wheels came off... Actively searching but others left, got sued for non-compete, other suits pending.... It's quite a life...

Nope, but it's not bad. I enjoy not working.

If I am staying busy and working on productive projects, yes.

If it is slow and marketing/sales is on their manic bullshite then no.

The job/projects are great, the company sucks. Corporate bullshite and dysfunction at the Executive level is exhausting.

I get that. My memory is shite, I'm always tired, and just dragging myself out of bed in the morning is a chore now. My job is making changes that hurt in the short run but should massively help in the long run, but we shall see. I cannot keep doing this much longer.

The job itself is incredible and something many people dream of doing. On good days I can't believe I get paid to do it, and I get tremendous fulfillment from it.

Hiwever, the almost satirical layers of bureaucracy and admin in order to actually do the work is maddening.

I can’t imagine how boring a life you have to have to enjoy working.

I’m at work right now and can think of 1,000 things I’d rather be doing.

I am amazed to realize that I do.

I work from home which is a huge plus, but I work steadily for 8 hours, sometimes more due to the nature of the work. I have found a niche where I am very capable and the actual work interests me. The bureaucracy sucks, but is manageable. It could all change with the wrong team, client, or manager, but for now…getting promotions, raises, and bonuses to do something I like is no bad thing.

That being said…tell me I can leave for the day and Im gone like a shot. Always.
