What is driving this trend of cerekoting rifles shite brown?

Maybe I’m getting old, but a rifle action and barrel should be blued/black or stainless. Flat grey if you’re feelin froggy.
What is prompting companies to offer rifles, sometimes exclusively, with cerekote finishes that are essentially baby shite colored. Do y’all like this?

I don't care for that look, but I'm sure the companies do what the market dictates. That's the current trend, so that's what they go with. I'm sure the cheap plastic and dip is more profitable than wood, too.

I don't own one but I don't see why anybody would have a problem with it. It improves corrosion resistance and the brown would blend in better to where I hunt. It looks like a lot of "premium" rifle manufacturers are doing it more. I guess it's an improvement over blued/matte and that's what is driving the trend.

You’re old.
That burnt bronze is badass. I’m also the guy who has an orange, blue and red rifles

I have no complaints about cerekoting a rifle, and I understand natural colors to blend in, but you’re gonna stick a black scope on top of the thing. The question is why prettymuch every manufacturer has gone to this burnt bronze look, it’s across the industry and is sometimes the only option in a given rifle.

The reason why guns were blued for years and years was for corrosion protection.
Until recently, they didn't have anything better.
Cerakote is so much better as a finish and protection. My rifle is cerakoted FDE.
I love it.

Totally understand the utility of it as a finish, my next rifle purchase will have it. I’m more curious as to why they’re all this same color, as opposed to flat black, grey, FDE, or OD green. It’s like one focus group had a bunch of flatbills in it who swung the whole market.

He just talking about the color and not really the finish. But to your question, you just old

I think your off on this bud. I get that you don't like it and thats fine, we all have different taste. In my opinion my bronze Cerakoted Browning is my best looking rifle and my bill has never or will never be flat. I also love the look of traditional wood w/blued barrel as well. Some of this other stuff isn't my cup of tea though like the blue rifle above but whatever he likes is fine by me.

They kind of do they the ones buying new guns all us old farts have full safes.
I really like cerakote and have a couple guns in it in various colors( gray, bronze, black) blue and wood don’t really sell so manufacturers are not pumping them out. FYI you can get a gun done in a cerakote that looks blue as in blued finish.

I can deal with the color.
I don’t care for the new box mag trend, though.

The tan, FDE, Burnt Bronze, Khaki, etc, etc trend comes from the military.
As soon as SOCOM started mandating that rifles be delivered in a tan shade the trend crossed over to the commercial market.
Personally I like it. The painted finish stays cooler when left sitting in the sun and scratches blend in more. I hated when I would get a big scratch on my beautiful blued rifle barrel.

Most rifles are fkn horrendous looking these days. Are we headed into the Hindu Kush to hunt tali or to pawpaws pipeline heated box stand for a 2.5 y/o 5 pt?
