re: Ford Expedition vs Suburban
Posted by BassAssassin22 on 12/28/23 at 12:39 pm
We have owned a 2017 yukon, 2019 suburban, and now a 2021 expedition max. The suburban transmission went out and stranded us in Natchitoches with 67k miles. Traded it in for the Expedition. 57k miles on the expedition now and it has been a great vehicle for us. The suburban was a bit more fuel effic...
re: Has anyone here dealt with TMJ disorder?
Posted by BassAssassin22 on 9/26/23 at 4:26 pm
[quote]It's only on my right side. I don't have any issues opening, yawning for example is no issue. It just hurts when I bite down. Don't know how to really explain the feeling, but it feels like there's an object in my inner ear that my ear constricts around when I bite down all the way. Like I sa...

[quote]I thought what I initially had was an ear infection because the pain and pressure is mostly in that area. But after a couple of days it became hard to chew food and looking up the symptoms it appears that this is what I actually have. I'll try to go to a doctor soon but from what I read it se...
re: First time to Pensacola Beach, what to do where to eat?
Posted by BassAssassin22 on 8/24/23 at 11:50 pm
We’ve been going there for the last few years during the summer. Have enjoyed McGuires, Grand Marlin, Flounders, Rodizio (Brazilian style steakhouse). I don’t care much for red fish blue fish or the shrimp basket on the beach. Casino beach at the foot of the pier has decent food. There is a good ice...
re: Any of you guys ever pay for your food at Burger King and drive off before receiving it?
Posted by BassAssassin22 on 8/10/23 at 7:50 am
No, but the burger king here is probably the worst one in America. You can be the only one in the drive through and pull up and they ask you to wait. Then when you do pay for you food they ask you to pull up to the corner and they will bring it out to you. They never give you your order at the wind...
re: Anyone here have their neck broken and recovered? My brother broke his neck Update pag
Posted by BassAssassin22 on 8/1/23 at 4:23 pm
Back in March 2020 I had an accident and broke C5 and C6. Had surgery and they fused C5-C7. Took a bone graft from my hip for the fusion. Never lost any mobility in my extremities. I do occasionally get a numbness in my hands depending on my posture. Wore a hard brace for a few weeks. Have most of m...

re: Adding Shrimp to the Crawfish Boil
Posted by BassAssassin22 on 4/20/23 at 10:15 pm
I usually add 5-10 pounds of shrimp to each of my boils. I buy the bags of “easy peel” frozen shrimp from Walmart. I like to use either the colossal or jumbo size. I add them when I kill the fire to the crawfish. I then use a boil boss to cool the water. They come out perfect every time and soak up ...

re: WBRZ: LSU said what happened with traffic last Saturday will not happen again
Posted by BassAssassin22 on 9/13/22 at 9:45 pm
[quote]That said, it also must be taken into account there were a lot of local visitors driving to campus who don't usually come for an LSU game. Visitors who are not particularly well known for following rules well. Case in point, I've talked to more than a few people who told me some of the park...

re: UPDATE!!!Shark fishing on a crowded beach?
Posted by BassAssassin22 on 7/20/22 at 7:25 pm
Go walk out on the pier at Gulf Shores, Pensacola, Navarre, etc. and look at the water. You won’t believe the number of sharks relatively close to the people swimming. They have no clue ...
re: Can someone shed some light on Uber after football games last season?
Posted by BassAssassin22 on 4/28/22 at 11:12 am
It was terrible. Last year during a game (ULM) and it wasn't even that crowded, we ended up having to call a taxi. We had to walk to walk-ons to get picked up. There weren't many uber/lyft cars in the area. I'm not sure if that has changed. ...
re: Is there such thing as an emergency dentist?
Posted by BassAssassin22 on 3/13/22 at 8:33 pm
It should. Root canals can still fail though. Essentially a root canal will take the nerve out of the tooth making it non vital. They can still get an infection if not cleaned properly or filled properly. Sometimes they just fail for no rhyme or reason. I send my patients to a specialist for back to...

Your tooth has different levels of “health” as we will call it
Normal- self explanatory
Reversible pulpitis-minor to moderate pain but will go away after a relatively short prior of time. Usually seen after a procedure is performed
Irreversible pulpitis- tooth is on the verge of “dying” an...
re: Scariest thing that happened to you in the woods
Posted by BassAssassin22 on 3/11/22 at 1:50 pm
Not really in the woods but was wading for crappie in about thigh deep water in the spring. I was stepping over this small bush when I felt the most weird movement and a big snake came flying out of the water against my thigh and landed about 3 feet in front of me. Scared the absolute crap out of me...
