It’s supposed to be a,” got ya” that atheist use often because they don’t understand the Bible

Galatians 3:24-25
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster

I remember when Colbert was funny. Back before he came out as an aging lesbian.

Are his writers on strike. I mean, I hope they are on strike, then he would have an excuse for that nonsense..

In the Catholic world Colbert is what we would call “no true Scotsman”

Colbert, who is a devout Catholic himself,

quote:

Being biblically faithful is not easy for a guy from Louisiana 'cuz now he has to give up shrimp, crab, oysters and barbecue pork," he said. "And I'm sure he's gonna miss his wife when she has to be cast out of town during the time of her blood, only to be allowed to return when she brings two turtledoves to the tabernacle for the priest to sacrifice."

And so, you have to question the obvious devotion to the Christian faith of a person who would distort his own faith in an attempt to get some chuckles from likeminded people who look down upon people of biblical faith.

Sounds a LOT more like a condemnation of a Christian from an unbeliever than an actual believer, now doesn’t it? Being biblically faithful is now a big joke to a supposed “Christian”? Kidding me? It’s the very foundation for the Christian Faith. How do you make jokes and mischaracterize scripture and then call yourself a Christian?

I mean, if I say I am devoted to my wife, and then get up in front of a national television audience and start running her down as a whore, and mischaracterizing her character and insulting her, do I really love, and am I really devoted to my wife?
How does one do similar to the scriptures of which is the Word of God. JESUS IS the “Word of God”. So, who is he actually mischaracterizing and insulting but actually Jesus Himself?

quote:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”

John 1:1-3

I mean, it’s only the very beginning of the introduction to the New Testament, that’s all.

Johnson’s statements on the Bible and Israel were embarrassing.

Must be the same writers who wrote that episode of West Wing where President Bartlett used a lot of verses from Deuteronomy to put down a pro-lifer. Biblical ignorance is a problem for a lot of Christians.

What statements exactly? Are you embarrassed that someone actually has moral standards and will not cower to the leftists that preach tolerance (as long as it is the tolerance they want)

What? No.

I find it embarrassing that he thinks the Bible mandates that the United States unequivocally support Israel.

Colbert is a devout Catholic?

There's not one devout Christian who knows Colbert's schtick and foul mouth who would ever recognize Colbert as a "devout Catholic."....maybe today's definition of being a devout Catholic means being of the world and mocking the Light?

It's not funny when you hate the person anyways. Making fun of a friend hits way different, this just comes across as bitter and mean spirited.
