Spot on. Throw in that they struggle to deliver quality and it adds fuel to the fire. Ironically, Guys like Filoni are the ones creating interesting female characters

Nappy, this starter because the main character maybe LOOKED like a liberal. Literally based on one fact: it wasn't a guy. It's so stupid.
Everything is "woke". Word has no meaning and I'm over hearing about it.

It honestly reads like something out of the Screwtape Letters.
"Convince them that wokeness is their biggest threat and they'll ignore the things that are actually important and relevant. They'll devour each other."

I understand. Trust me. I think it has much less to do with the character and more so to do with the companies behind the game.
We all know media and video games have had many great female leads. To deny this is a lie.
But the majority of this market is men…so logically it’s a bit lopsided….but that’s smart business. It’s obvious there is a certain sect of people trying to move away from what’s common and what’s worked for many many years in order to “force” an agenda.
Is it a bad assumption….sure…the trailer and game isn’t even out yet.
Is it good assumption….sure…it’s Disney and Ubisoft.
This “woke” started as a small fire and instead of dealing with it/putting it out…the whole world is beginning to burn. So naturally you’re gonna keep hearing about it.

No? Looks like random small town 23 year old girl

Character design looks fine to me.
The real issues are
1. Ubisoft hasnt made a good game since 2014
2. The footage they've shown indicates that Marvel writing is in full force and that the characters will never shut the frick up (like every AAA game these days)
*cause a big explosion* "well that just happened!"
*we need to get out of here before the droids arrive....wait, they're right behind me arent they?"
cringe

May be awesome and it may suck.
The female lead does get old in the Star Wars universe. It is not a "because they are women" argument, it is mainly they SW writers cannot seem to nail down a proper female lead character lately.
They struggle with the concept of a person with feminine traits, can be a bad arse person.

Looks like the preorder bullshite EA pulled with their StarWars games when they had the exclusive rights rubbed off on Ubisoft.

Looks to be well polished from the Story trailer. How hard is it to make attractive females in games these days? That was my problem wtih Outerworlds. All the NPCs were neutered to be as boring as possible. Yawn

If you think this is bad, go take a look at the new Fable chick.

I definitely made Batman do a lot of silly stuff as a kid, but he did it as Batman. I liked setting up my comic heroes and villains to have to navigate classic sitcom scenarios in between foiling villainous plots to take over the world.
Sometimes spiderman accidentally ends up on a couples vacation where he runs into sandman, but both have to keep their secret identities hidden from their girlfriends to avoid ruining their relationships. I mean, it makes for some tense situations at brunch
I had one where the x-men went on trial and Carnage was appointed the public defender. You have fun with it sometimes.

I’m a sucker for Star Wars so I’m in to play it when it comes out.

This is not a cry more scenario and is looking at the Star Wars universe in totality (Movies, Shows, Books, Games).
The last two Fallen Order games are and example of that they have done right. You had two very strong female characters in there that were the foundation for Cal. One was a mother figure and the other a guiding love interest. It worked and the story told made complete sense.
Now we change over to the greater universe, and you start to see where the fail. The last proper female lead they have had was Jyn Erso. You could relate to her struggle and she was not forced into a role that would normally be male. Ahsoka was this role in animation, but they really strayed in the live action from what made Ahsoka awesome. Same with Sabine Wren, they took away from her bad arse personality of animation and gave her pointless emotions, mainly with Ahsoka. It was forced emotions, for the point of emotions.
They desecrated what was Luke and Leia from the the OT and Rey maybe one of the worst story lines ever put out there.
They do not do female leads very well right now, it is OK to say that and not be a hater of female leads.
Just look at the Tomb Raider reboots, you can see how it can properly be done. Lara is most certainly a woman, but not overly sexualized. Her abilities and limitations make sense. Her backstory makes sense. Her being a female does not feel forced. Lara is not emotional to just be emotional.
