I’m so excited to reap my new reduced auto insurance rates! Landry and the Legislators promised that hindering injured citizens’ ability to seek redress when maimed or killed by bad drivers would lower our rates.

So what if your wife or husband loses life or limb and you rely on that second income as a family and your auto rates continue to rise?

Will voters hold the Legislators accountable when the great lie is evident as insurance rates continue to increase exponentially?

What happens when we learn that the problem is the insurance industry not the mid-30’s father of three with a TBI, cervical fusion, facial fractures and wrecked lumbar spine who can no longer provide for his wife and children?

Will Tim Temple hold insurers to account and force rates down? Or allow insurers to continue to abuse the public with unchecked annual increases?

Anyone who told you that these tort reform measures would reduce your auto insurance premiums knowingly lied to you.

The problem is the trial lawyers and our ridiculous tort policies. Insurance is a bigger problem here, in Louisiana, than anywhere else in America. Why aren’t insurance companies wrecking everything in those places?

We’re experiencing Bobby Jindal’s third term. He’s talking about defunding public schools to pay for more ineffective school vouchers that have already proven to cost taxpayers more and produce dumber students in Louisiana.

Guess he wants to ensure a population for all the new prisons he wants to build. He must have a brother with a construction company.

Just because he’s an attorney doesn’t mean he’s wrong. The citizens of the state were lied to. Period.

There's a bill that will help on the way. LOL!

HB 383 Engrossed 2024 Regular Session Galle

Abstract: Provides a limitation of action for operators of motor vehicles for harm caused to persons injured while illegally blocking a roadway.

Proposed law provides that no pedestrian illegally blocking a roadway shall have a cause of action against the operator of a motor vehicle for any injury, death, loss, or damage resulting from any act or omission by the operator of the vehicle if such injury, death, loss, or damage
is caused by the operator's use of force with his vehicle.

Proposed law provides that the operator may use force with his vehicle in order to retreat or escape from the pedestrian illegally blocking the roadway if the operator reasonably believes that he or his passengers are in immediate danger.

Teachers unions don’t have anything to do with voucher schools.

Is LA cracking down on uninsured motorists? My understanding that is the biggest problem.

UM is a big problem, but the biggest problem is that people in La are so fricking litigious.

We need tort reform badly.

Oh people don’t like posts that challenge their myopic worldviews here? That’s new.

I’ve already posted the data and research that informs my claims.

All you got is “haha no one likes you on this anonymous boomer male dominated message board!!!1”

That’s the answer, just need to let those insurance companies keep more of the money they earn (the purpose of which is to cover the exact scenarios that need to be stopped) and surely they will pass the savings down to consumers and not just retain higher profit margins!

No, they weren't...not exactly.

The original bills would have made a difference, but the schlock that actually passed the house was more watered down than the booze at a strip club
