Kelly has NO problem for AT LEAST another 5 - 6 seasons. LSU cannot hand over $70 Million to buy him out.

House scheme 2024

Many forget that House was pretty damn impressive when he had a DL coach and some experienced CBs in 2022.

No DC can take the hits that LSU took on defense in 2023, and still field a palatable product. None. We saw our defense improve within weeks of adding Pete Jenkins.

In 2024, he returns most of the defense and they all have lots of reps in his system. We could go into 2024 damn near elite with the right additions to the staff and secondary.

Delusional and also on heavy meth if you believe that next year's defense will be elite.

This year was mainly scheme issue oriented

It was both talent and scheme.

There was real talent deficiency on defense that no coach could overcome completely.

But when it was combined with House’s god awful scheme the problem was compounded and we wasted a championship level offense because of it. That’s the most frustrating part, with just a little below average defenses this would have been a playoff team.

A&M game still had many coaching issues on Defense but because a few second half adjustments the sentiment he can rectify the issuesand LSU to be a dominant defensive team is far fetched

I’m still not convinced that House was actually calling the defense in the second half vs aTm

LSU is in for a very long road of average if House and D staff isn't removed immediately.
Recruiting top players will completely dry up.
No one wants to play for a perceived loser, and that is what LSU defense is perceived nationwide at the moment.
No major change, welcome mediocrity for a lot of years.

Elite defense would be Top 10 next season? Sure.

And you know this how? What are your credentials? Are you in the defense strategy meeting with House, BK and the position coaches? Are you in the video room evaluating the skills of our defensive players? Fill us in on your vast knowledge.

Other than that 15 of the 27 recruits we have now are on defense SO FAR. The 4 linebackers committed are all 4 stars. Linebackers are Houses specialty BTW. We just picked up Gabe Relliford a 4 star DT. Apparently DT Ahmad Breaux is balling out and looked at as a steal. We also picked up former 5 star DT Shone Washington. Also we have 4 star DT De'Myron Johnson. Lastly we have a good shot at 5 star DT McKinley from Acadiana High. Apparently all these quality players are impressed with House.

Your point is pointless and doesn't follow the facts. The only fact in your post is you know nothing.

LBs are definitely House's specialty. Unfortunately, he almost neutralized Perkins this season too.

I've heard all this cheerleading before.
Case in point...did our 5 star LB play to 4 star level this year? Did our Oregon St 4 star LB play to 3 star level this year? Did any of our DL play to 3 star level this year?
Answer those questions honestly, and you will understand my post better.
Time will tell, and I hope you are right.

Agreed this is the issue players are not improving. Most people even had Chestnut as a top 20 corner in the nation till he got here.

Well when your best DT Mingo gets hurt, you you lose your D Lins coach and your secondary loses the 2 best DB's and you are down to true freshman it affects the LB's and DT's and the whole damm defense. Perkins by necessity had to become a safety a lot having to drop to make up for a weak secondary. If the secondary can't cover the pass rush is hurt because guys get open quickly which negates a pass rush. The other LB's had to cover too. Can't blame this shite on one freaking guy. You seem for some odd reason to ignore what House and the entire staff inherited. You seem to think one freaking recruiting class should fix everthing. It took Kirby 4 recruiting classes to get Georgia where they are and he didn't inherit the shite show BK and House did.

Bottom line is BK hired him. If he keeps him I am fine. If he fires him I am fine. I won't join this foolish posse' here because they have no clue from what I read. Love this scheme thing here. Just that tells me they don't understand football.

You realize being condescending falls flat when experts and media also agree House needs to be fired?

Experts? Media? The word "expert" is freaking overused. It's thrown around like dirty underwear like the word hero. Who Are they? You, the sports writer? The media? The sports writers are just their opinions and like a holes everyone has one. Media? The media is biased and certainly not "experts". Well I played college ball. I also stay in touch with a lot of coaches. None I know agree with the House mob here.

So called experts and the media didn't predict BK would be the West champ and beat Bama his first year.

The only expert I will believe is BK. He is there, hired House and knows a thousand times more about House and every staff coach than you, the media and the experts. Just because I played ball and talk to coaches doesn't make me an "expert" either. However I think I see things that are obvious to me based on my playing experience and coaches opinions. This scheme thing is something I didn't need coaches or the experts to tell me that is not our D's problem.

Just answer me this question; if defensive scheme is the answer than why did Vanderbilt, Auburn, Miss St, S Carolina and Arkansas have such a bad year? Did they not "scheme" correctly? Or was it they are all had bad DC's or did they not have athletes to compete?

Last question; did House "scheme" properly last year when we won the SEC West?

When House comes back everyone will talk themselves into how this season wasn't his fault and when August rolls around the defense will look like world beaters at fall camp.
