There was a lot of games early in the season he wasn't good either. I chalk it up to figuring out his team and understanding the best packages chemistry wise being new. That said, he made some really bizarre decisions early in the season. He had packages where he was constantly marching 3 TEs out on a roster that had none with a true freshman starting and consistently removing the best strength on the offense which was the WRs. It's one major reason they struggled through 3 quarters in Florida State. He had some really bad packages in that game but again, it took him awhile to adjust and eventually that disappeared by midseason so can't really criticize it too much being a new team, personnel, etc.

In all fairness NOBODY was saying that about Clyde before the 2019 season and then he blew up and became a star. One of our 8 talented backs could emerge into a big time player and surprise us.

Name 1 similarity.

A returning fifth year QB who is coming off a very good season
A line that returned everyone from a very good season
A loaded wide receiving corp
A RB group with decent backs but no one proven or especially high rated.

People are using the exact same language about our best back as they did with Clyde. Muh “No breakaway speed.” Dumbasses don’t understand we don’t need him for explosive plays. That’s what the WRs are for.

We will be better than the 2019 team by mid season. Yeah, I said it.

2019 saw 2 of the best WRs in the NFL. None of ours this year are close to that.

You don’t know that. Just like you didn’t know it at the start of the 2019 season either. I’m not saying they’re equal, but these four receivers are capable of being nearly as dominant.

It definitely feels like it. I don’t understand the downvotes. We need a RB, but nobody expected CEH to be what he was in 2019 either. We lack
Depth as some positions, but team is going to be really good.

Clyde was better by himself than all 8 of our current RBs

At this point in 2019, most of the rant was calling for 1 of those 8 to start over Clyde. Actually that was the case even after a few games.

There will never be another 2019 offense until there is another Joe Burrow at lsu.

That offense was the perfect storm.

Brian Thomas Jr. and Sampson should also contribute a lot at receiver.

I expect Lacy to definitely be improved after getting the SEC experience last season. And as previously noted several times already, look for Anderson to display his outstanding kick return skills as well.

Cain should get plenty of tough yards and there's more depth at running back for LSU this season with the two exciting freshmen waiting in the wings.

In August 2019 none of these guys were great… they just had potential.. there was optimism but I don’t recall ppl saying that team was a natty contender and tGoat

This team is special and can write their own legacy. And yes, this team is a natty contender and can be one of the best LSU teams ever

The nuttiest! It’s part of what makes every opponent and their fan base want to go up against LSU.

Not once did I say that this LSU team was not talented, or had no shot at winning anything.

The LSU team in 2019 is considered (by way more than just LSU fans) to be the greatest team of all time. I know people on here are really slow, especially the OP, but that is a huge arse deal. To think that LSU can replicate that team in just a few short years is pretty damn far fetched.

Some of us live in reality.

No. You are just dumb. There is no nice way to put it. Sorry if the truth hurts, but perhaps you could try being less dumb.
