That would make more sense if a significant number of NFL teams were actually run first teams. Probably one of the only run first teams from this current season is Dallas.

Look at Alabama this year.

JC, what the hell are they doing with that guy at QB. This is Alabama.

They can't get a 5 star arm? I don't get this running back at QB SEC philosophy.

Ok, can we agree that NFL offenses are, generally, much more closely structured to SEC offenses than the type of offense that Leach runs?

Louisville's offense was pretty damn impressive all year...then they played LSU.

Not every SEC team has a Dave Aranda.

Pac-12 defense may have been bad, but the Big 12 in general was something special on defense this year

Big 12 Defenses against Big 12 offenses were bad.

Big 12 defenses against other P5 schools offenses were surprisingly better than anyone expected. Big 12 gave up the fewest PPG (21.5) of any conference in bowl games.

Since Mike Leach started coaching SEC teams have won 9 titles, he has won zero.

If a team runs a pro style offense, then there you go. That said, to say the SEC in general does so may be reaching. How many SEC teams actually run a pro style offense now?

And I am not saying Mike Leach runs a pro style offense

That thought actually crossed my mind, but I didn't have a stat on hand. Interesting.

I think those old curmudgeony stuck in the mud offenses in the SEC did perfectly fine the last few decades on a national scale.

You're ignoring major parts of history in saying this if you're saying "the last few decades." (i.e. Spurrier and Meyer in back to back decades succeeding with their offenses, and how people were skeptical with Meyer in particular on how his offense would succeed in the league).

This is a great time to be in the SEC, everybody’s got the same offense: run right, run left, play action.

I don't think anyone with half a brain would declare that Auburn, Ole Miss, Arkansas, LSU, Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi State are running the same offense.

I would expect an offensive genius to recognize the minutiae and distinct differences of offensive playcalling.

Leach's offense did light up the vaunted Minnesota not-Vikings defense for 12 points in his team's bowl game.

Here is the problem with these score fast offenses. You will wear your defense out. That's fine if you have a shitty defense, then who cares. But if you have a fantastic defense then there is no need to run them on the field all the damn time.

well meyer had to adjust his offense a bit and even then needed a generational college player to catapult it.

That first NC was on the back of his D

Only 6 of their teams went. If you take the SECS top 6 they average 16.6. 3 games under 10 points, 2 of those with no touchdowns. Hard to make those comparisons based on bowl games, I'd think.

As of late the coaches in this conference aren't nearly as good either.
