Big L better be careful here....

....the SEC has some very gifted, talented and skilled receivers....the SEC quarterback play is what is holding the conference back as a whole.

And the defense in the SEC week in and week out is the standard bearer.

Leach shouldn't get shut down by a Minnesota team on protest.

For all the crap the SEC gets for bad qbs, they have just as many starting qbs in the NFL as the pac12 and more than the other conferences

Leach is just pissed because LSU or Bama could beat the shite out if his team running the ball 75% of the time.
Oh well. It's a big boy sport

I'll listen to him when he actually hires someone to help him obtain a great defense

SEC has become way too conservative offensively. My personal opinion is that everyone is too worried about beating Bama and try to build a team for that instead of just making an identity for themselves

I like Leach but what has he won or for that matter, how did his conference champ do against the team he is bitching about? PAC hasn't be relevant since Pete Carrol walked out the door.

I certainly would not give mike leach the credibility to use as a reference. I don't believe a mike leach coached team has ever even sniffed a conference title much less national title.

2008 Tech was in that three-way tie for the Big 12 South with OU and UT.

They ended the 2008season at Texas Tech 11-1 and in a 3-way tie with Oklahoma and Texas. (Texas beat OU, Tech beat Texas, OU beat Tech). OU made the B12CG and the BCSNC. With a bigger name brand it could've been TxTech

Auburn- spread
Bama- power spread mixed with some pro
LSU- pro
Florida- pro
Tennessee- spread
Ole miss- spread
Miss St- spread
Kentucky- spread I think?
Vandy- really not sure
Georgia- pro
Arky- pro
A&M-spread
Missouri- spread

Seems like reputation doesn't meet reality

ETA you can argue that the SEC offenses were better a few years ago before the spread started to um spread across the SEC

You list all these "Pro" style offenses.

Have you watched the NFL lately.

Your definition of "Pro" is outdated.

Alabama ran the ball 51 goddam times against LSU.

LSU ran the ball 27 times (for 33 fricking yards).

What NFL teams do this in this day and age? The last one I can remember used to be the Steelers but those days are gone.

Even traditional...Pro style assumed a great pocket passer...that would run to set up the pass. Now the NFL is just pass, pass. So saying Pro style isn't a positive for the SEC...considering, they do run, run, run to set up a few "surprise ya" passes or screens...but the QB play stinks so it becomes meh. No dynamism...no creativity.

It's not the entire conference...but Leach is right in the perception. Perception becomes reality and under Miles, LSU was a big perception of the conference, so with Bama obviously and so that reputation as sticks in the mud carries national weight.

Just surprised that a dominant conference can't get the Mannings like they used to...like other conferences get. SEC QBs sucked last year. That's where Leach is coming from. The best conference can't get a Big12 or Pac-12 QB? What is going on?
