I need pride in here now to reassure us the PGA Tour is winning.

Maybe he finally figured out he's never winning another major so he doesn't need the ranking

Yes! Rory is about to turn heel, and become the most hated golfer.

There has definitely been a shift in his comments toward LIV as of recent. The timing of it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me, but I wouldn’t be surprised at the move.

Pretty sure he shot down rumors this past week at his press conference, no?

That’s when you know it will happen.

Well when you can't win majors anymore, might as well go play in the caddyshack 2 tournaments

Idk what he said at Masters but he said this back in February Twitter video
quote:

Rory McIlroy tells the press there’s somewhere between a “good chance” and a “10 percent” chance he joins LIV in the future.

Q: I'm wondering the last time you spoke to Chubby Chandler and what did you think motivated him to say what he said other than making headlines?

RORY MCILROY: I think he's writing a book, so there is that. I spoke to
Chubby, might have saw him in the Middle East at the start of the year.
Never know. He might know a few things. Who knows.

Q. He started by saying there is a good chance you would go to liv
in an -- it was 10%. Is there a percentage that...

RORY McILROY: Somewhere in the middle maybe. Who knows.

Saudi money is monopoly money to them. They're so bored, they don't know what to do with it but throw it away.

Minus the whole 9/11 culpability thing, you have to begrudgingly like what the Sauds are doing on as a whole.

Just fricking throwing money out like a Puerto Rican on payday at the dollar ballet.

If Rory goes, the dam is really going to burst. JT must be kicking himself for letting his wife talk him out of $250 big ones*.

.*That's the rumor, anyway

When Rory bolts for LIV I would expect Tommy Fleetwood & Viktor Hovland to follow him shortly after.

hope those guys see the money, many of the soccer players who went to Saudi for Huge contracts, never saw a pay check, or got little of the 40-50million they signed for

Yeah if Rory goes that’s game set match. Reading between the lines it sounds like LIV is selling Rahm and Rory on them being the dominoes that force reunification. And then they get their cake and eat it too. Rahm didn’t actually move the needle all that much but if the Saudis can just spend $2 billion dollars on like three players you can’t beat them.

Also becoming a very clear American versus international divide. Hovland, Aberg, Rory, Fleetwood. Feels like they all might go at that point.

I said at the beginning that no one wants to be the schmuck at the end standing next to Jay and Rory turning out the lights on the PGA Tour. Looks like Rory might beat them out the door.

I’d like LIV less.

Never underestimate how pissed off the Europeans are that Golf essentially became an American league.

The biggest clue that Rory is LIV bound is when Greg Norman followed him around the course on Thursday.

I guess I'm confused on all this, I thought the PGA commissioner backstabbed everyone and married the Saudis and they're all combining? How does that work?

Still hasn’t happened. I think he fricked the whole thing up getting an outside investor in addition to PIF

Pretty clear that the PGA tour is playing hardball with negotiations as far as what happens to LIV and LIV players. They basically want LIV to dissolve or be a side show and LIV players to be punished on their return. The Saudis want LIV to survive and be integrated as a major part of the new merged tour and the LIV players aren’t punished at all.

The PGA tried to get a leg up by courting outside investors. LIV poached Rahm with $400 million dollars. PGA officially got a huge investment from SSG to steal back the leverage. Now LIV/Saudis are trying to regain the upper hand by poaching Rory.

Rahm and Rory have been preaching reunification as well. LIV clearly sold Rahm, and likely is selling Rory, that not only will they get more money than some small countries, but it’s actually good for golf bc reunification will have to happen if they leave.
