They’re still in the same faction. They’re the “western forces”

I took it as Cali and Tx both just wanted to secede but separately.

Yea IDK maybe someone who saw it ones to chime in but I thought they were the "Western Forces" Under some future weird future scenarios I could see the two states with the largest economies possibly finding some common ground. As it was said by one of the characters in a clip I saw that these two would probably start fighting amongst themselves once the mission was finished.

As stated previously, the film does not answer these questions or care much about them, it’s not really the point. The politics/details of the war are very few and far between

It’s all conjecture of course. But that’s the common ground I think of when I consider their politics as well. Texas has Texit and CA has Calexit. Just because they joined forces I don’t think it means they want to be connected any other way.

Just got out.

I thought it was great. I didn’t notice any political undertones. It was well paced and written.

No mention of how the war started or if the Western Force had sub factions.

Go see it. Leave the kids at home.

There is mention that the sitting president is on his third term..

No it doesn’t. You’re looking for things to piss you off.

1. This has to happen! (It happens)
2. None of what you're saying is happening. You're just a conspiracy theorist!
3. (After it becomes painfully obvious what's happening) Why do you care? It's only a big deal to you!

Those are the guys who wait for a few grifters to tell them what to think about everything. Need to check with insert podcast/YouTuber first before I’m able to understand what opinion I’m supposed to have.

God forbid you let yourself interact with a movie or piece of art/story and investigating what it makes you feel /think about and why- just skip all that and get your opinions prepackaged for you

Like feel free to hate this movie and think all of those things, there is plenty on it that I felt was lacking or not as good as it could’ve been, but have the damn decency to watch the thing before you decide you want to shoot off the hip about it just swinging at shadows at that point

Lot of people in here need to seek help. Everyone projecting their views onto the movie and what they want it to be

Nick Offerman denies that his Civil War character represents Donald Trump. “Honestly, [the Trump comparison] didn’t even come up"

I fully expected this movie to be Orange man bad, Alt Right vs Left , crazy hillbillies with all sorts of shoehorned pandering.

But what we got is a really great movie on a modern civil war, some people don't even know what they're fighting for, both sides commit attrocities, no true clear cut bad guy(president probably was but I must've missed some context to what made him exceptionally evil) and crazy people all mixed in. With Journalists doing their jobs. I loved it.

Forgive anyone daring to question the possibility of bias from Hollywood.
Once you beat someone enough, they tend to think it will happen again.

It would be understandable to be unsure if the movie without knowing what it’s about or how it is, and I also had reservations about the movie before watching it and the overall premise based on the trailer.

But you’re in a thread postulating things you’re imagining is in the plot next to people who have seen it with their own eyes and saying “nah, what I heard will be right”. You’re getting premad at something you haven’t seen. Ignore it or watch it to know what you’re mad at. All I’m asking.

Are there credit scenes in this? My wife’s “Run Pee” app said there was.

I forgot I had this app on my phone. When I read this post I thought "Darn I missed it", but I just looked up what the app says, and indeed, I did see what it is referring to. It's not referring to an extra scene. When the end credits start rolling, in the background you see what appears to be a very very faint photograph. It slowly becomes into view until it shows the image clearly. It's just a trophy shot. The guys that took him down are smiling and posing with the body for the camera, so the shot was probably taken by the young wanna-be war photographer.

BTW, one little detail I liked was when Mary Jane went down, the other two photographers knew that the guys they were with were about to get to the president, so they didn't even bother to check on Mary Jane because they couldn't miss the moment, they had to get the shot...

Some foreshadowing when Jessie asked Lee early on the journey if she would film her getting shot.

Just got out. I thought it was pretty good, I was entertained. The cast was great, and there were some legitimately tense scenes.

I was shocked on how small Nick Offerman's role was. You've seen his performance in the trailers

Are there any Vets her than can confirm that the press would be attached to the hip of actually infantry? I thought that to be unrealistic, but I’m not a vet so I wouldn’t know.
