Aliens, but Vazquez instead of Ripley. Though Ripley is really good in that too.

I can't think of any movies that specifically made "strong female" their goal that are any good. Usually cringe.


Eowyn from Lord of the Rings is a good "strong female" example that fits within a great story that glorifies men and masculinity as well.


Most "female empowerment" tropes are mostly just anti-male.

It was only done right when it wasn't a trope. The good examples all were legitimate well written characters, organically created.

Ripley and Sarah Conner also come across as real people. They aren't perfect, they occasionally are emotionally weak, they are both very maternal, etc.

Lots of movies did it well until that became the point of the movies, then they started to suck.
