FWIW, nowhere in the Bible does it mention the age of the earth.

I just wanted to point that out. Y’all can get back to your argument.

Without form, or formless, could mean without continents. It has been posited that there were no large land masses when the earth was formed.

Makes sense if you consider the whole verse "Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters."

Dry ground didn't appear until verse 9. Pretty amazing that the Bible has had this right the whole time, and scientists just figured it out.

Limited Archaean continental emergence reflected in an early Archaean 18O-enriched ocean

Whether you believe the age of the earth is 6,000 or 4.3 billion it’s amazing that the initial creation seems eerily similar to the big bang. The idea that the lights were turned on instantly and all the heavens were created in a moment is not the way I would have thought primitive man would have guessed how the Universe was created.

google human population growth and look for yourself. Most won't, they will only ridicule. Deniers can just post a few graphs to show us wrong.

Well why didn’t you just go ahead and link it if it is so important? Oh you couldn’t post the follow up sentence of “most wont they will only ridicule” like you’re some martyr.

This. The Earth is millions of years old. This particular age is only a few thousand years. Research the gap theory between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2

I don't discount it. Anatomically correct is fair game but that doesn't necessarily translate into 'mankind as we know it'. I don't discount rudimentary forms of human beings.

I think the term you're looking for is "evolution".

What always confuses me about these biblical lifespans is who knows how long a “year” was before calendars?

No, they used our current system because God is omnipotent and knew how perfect the Gregorian Calendar was (hence, he imparted his wisdom to Pope Gregory) that he used our current concept of years when dictating the Old Testament.

2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

There are many things that are unknown and that are not important for anyone to know here according to God or he would had said so.

From Genesis all the way through Revelations the message has nothing to do with the age of the earth, instead do you believe what God has said and your salvation. (not an argument and just my view only)

If the earth was a donut, the contestants on biggest loser would have finished eating it a long time ago, and the earth would be a big turd.

You were also the first person to comment on the thread about this virus back in January thinking it was just going to affect the Chinese. Nothing to see here so yeah I believe you wouldn’t understand how the earth is that old.
