Do you believe in ICBM's? Do you believe in the fission bombs that were used on Japan (that probably saved many of our grandfathers)?
If you believe WWII and the Cold War happened the way the United States Army teaches it, and understand the mechanics behind the basis of our great country's power, then you must understand how radioactive decay works, and why the quantitative data in the Book of Genesis should never be taken at face value.
It was written by Pre-Industrial people for Pre-Industrial people. We are not a Pre-Industrial people.

One thing for the old-earth folks to consider: Asumming, for the sake of discussion, that there is a God capable of creating the earth and heavens and everything in them—why would He not have the ability to work outside of the constraints that we know? For example, the processes that formed the Grand Canyon— we assume they took millions of years by natural processes, but what about supernatural processes?

The river that formed it continues to do so, before our eyes. We can literally observe the natural process happening and trace back how long it has occurred, and how long that took based on the geological layers in the canyon walls. We don’t “assume” to know how erosion works.
What on earth are you talking about?

Nope. Only two of that kind. Probably alligator or crocodile

Here are several Ph. D's that disagree with you.

Yea, I’m not watching your crackpot YouTube video. Bring a scholarly article from a credible source then we can talk.

Hide behind theory all you want. Mines as good as yours. But if you believe mine, it means hell is real. You better hope you're right.

I don’t care about your religious beliefs. If you believe that you’ll hold onto consciousness once your brain dies, then by all means have at it.
But crackpot YouTube theories are not equal to actual scientific research and publication. you should not base your positions in factual matters on what makes you feel better.

The longer this thread goes on, the more and more crackpots come out.

There are a number of empirical proofs of a very very old earth. Certainly you are not serious
Earth was created with the appearance of age. Adam and Eve where adults even though they where one day old. Same for trees, mountains , rivers, etc.

Well, we have endured evolutionists for for all all our formal educations—that’s 20 years in my case. Seems the least you could do is give us 20 or so minutes.

Thanks for posting this. This is what I was thinking of with my original comment.
I was shown this by an agnostic statistic professor, who at least had it in him to admit that this made him questions his previously held beliefs.

Brother Francis: He's left for the weekend. What do you need/
Maynard: I'm translating the Bible and it says that God created the World in Seven aeons? What's an aeon?
Maynard: A Day?
Francis: Yeah a Day,I I'm pretty sure. Hurry up, it's almost 5 lets go grab a mead.

You left out "of theories"
Scientific theory based on observation of conditions as they are today. Those guys put just as much faith in what their professors taught them as I put in the Bible.
