I have 2 children and coming out of a toxic marriage. The kids 8 and 6 are acting out at school and when they are with their whore mother. Advice on counseling or just letting this pass?

How often do you have them? If she has them the majority of the time, you’ll have years of hell trying to override anything she’s feeding them. At least the school year is almost over.

Wife used to work at a marriage and family counseling practice. She focused on counseling the children. I recommend you at least try it. They build a deep trust with the counselor. If you are concerned and considering it, that shows that you are a good dad who is mindful of their children's well being.

And if the ex is spreading lies and tainting them with a bad perception of you, counseling will help with seeing the good things about you.

Step 1: Don't ever say anything bad about their mother in front of them. Let them see it for themselves.

Been there done that 10 yrs ago-
1)Take the high road and don’t badmouth the whore.
2) get the kids professional counseling. They need to talk about it to somebody- don’t wait and think it’ll pass; it just builds
3) don’t give in to feeling guilty and letting them get away with stuff They’ll play you like a violin.
4) Don’t spoil them during your time; it’s not a contest and buying them crap makes it worse

Good luck and make sure you continually tell them that it’s not their fault.

But what if she really was? What if she cheated nonstop on the OP? Don’t you think he has a right to feel bitter and call a spade a spade?

Best thing to do is get out of town. Start over. The past is the past.

Product of a toxic divorce. Mother was an angel, Dad a workaholic. Long story, but Dad took out my mom leaving him on us.

- Don’t bad mouth in front the kids
- Get kids counseling
- Keep discipline a priority (both sides)
- long shot, but being civil with said whore is beneficial to the kid’s growth.

Goodluck man, tough spot for everyone, but the kids have it the hardest.

Man. It is the case of taking some time. Be solid. The kids will figure it out around 10-12 years old if this is happening with them at that age. Be the best person you can be. Expect the ex to find a new guy. You do not/should not bring a new woman in. It will correct itself but trust me this will be a tough one and that is the way it is.

Now to the kids. They are much smarter then you realize. Which you can use to your benefit and not. Just don’t f with their minds.
