Not from your summer job or dragging up at the burger king where it's expected. Serious adult jobs. Why did you leave and what was the outcome?

I quit my job and informed my boss a few months later. He then understood my lack of productivity

Put in my 2 week notice and worked the entire 2 weeks. Started my new job the next Monday and went golfing with my old boss that Saturday.

Pretty boring.

I wanted to leave my job on several occasions but stayed and retired after 43 years. About 10 of those years were barely tolerable but the majority were great.

I left my last job because my supervisor created an extraordinarily tense, toxic workplace where I was walking on eggshells. Coworkers in tears, one colleague warning me about another, snitching, supervisor camped out by the elevator waiting to see when another colleague arrived in the morning, etc.

Not thrilled about my current job, but it's a comfortable position while I think about my future.

On the cusp right now. Just got passed over on a promotion for a guy with 4 years less experience doing the job and 10 years less experience on location. Ive been training for this specific opening for the last 3 years with the guy who retired and left the opening.

Pretty infuriating. So I polished up the ole resume and put a bunch of feelers out.

Put in my two weeks. Only really liked one Co-worker. Agreed to work for her so she could leave town a day early to visit family. After I knew she was on her flight I called off sick. Boss called me about an hour later giving me shite for calling off so I said just consider it my last act as an employee for this shite company (worst place I ever worked). Hung up and went to a tailgate. Started with new company 8 days later and still with them to this day.

I worked in the admissions office of the law school at Loyola New Orleans. I was the only white person and the only male. My boss essentially told me that she was forced to hire me by the Dean and Father Moore because of my race/sex and degree, and further insinuated that she intended to make my life a living hell.

I quit after a month.

Put in my two weeks, sat on my arse for most of em because they pulled all my projects. Got paid for my vacation, built in two weeks before my next job started, spent a week of it on a beach in Mexico. Started my next job at a 27% increase in pay. Pretty frickin awesome really.

Employers display little to no loyalty to their employees, so why should I?

When it’s time to depart I generally stick to the 2 day notice protocol.

I quit 2 day, later bitches.

Looking back do you regret it?

Those 10 years of your life that you'll never get back, was the miserable time during those worth the stability of a solid retirement?

I walked away from my job totally out of the blue on Feb 28, 2020. I walked in at 8, told them I quit and packed my shite. I was out by 8:15.

I wasn't getting a covid clot shot or wearing a mask. And the 2 guys I was training were knuckleheads that thought they knew what they were doing, so I said frick it you do it then. They didn't last 3 months after i quit.

Ever consider that other candidate is just better on the grill than you?

I got nothing; I last changed jobs in the ‘80s and it was amenable.

Many years ago I worked at a construction company. I hated it and found another job, and put in my 2 weeks notice. Day after I put in my notice boss comes up to me and says make today your last day. fricking prick. So I packed up right there and left. I drove 1 block up the service road from the office to a panhandle on the corner. I gave him $20, and all the company clothing I had and asked him to wear it every day. I wanted that a-hole boss to see that when he left the office everyday.

Put in my two weeks and had a cordial conversation with my boss. The Firm was terrible and ran straight out of 1995. Boomers here would love it. Next day called and said he was pulling the two weeks because I hadn’t billed enough the day before. So, I banged a paralegal on her lunch break and took three weeks off before starting a job that paid significantly more.
