LOL! Grocery stores are packed. Home improvement stores are packed. You really think "social distancing" is having any real affect on this?

Schools are empty, bars are empty. There is more disease spread in those two places than in grocery and hardware stores.

I honestly can’t say if this is or isn’t satire.

Lolz. Many of us vote conservatively, voted for Trump, and will vote for him and other conservatives again.

That means social distancing and shutting down the economy saved 2.14 million lives. Awesome job everyone.

That’s only because everybody is at Albertson’s or Home Depot.

As opposed to "anybody who disagrees with me is a simpleton"?

DUHHHHHHHHHH, this forum has been touting it's the flu for weeks now! TD FTW.

So, is that because the measures are working?

Yahoo news carried a story this morning that some left wing Dem organization is buying radio ads to play during the Rush radio show saying that he's a liar. Don't they realize that they are enriching stations that promote Rush? I thought they wanted boycotts of those stations.

There are a few things that have to be taken into consideration here:

1) As others have said, this is 60,000 with significant changes in lifestyle and work that has never been done for the flu.

2) We don't know what the model is basing this on to be honest. Is it assuming continuing shelter in place for another week? month? until August?

These are things you have to account for. It's great the models are reducing, and hopefully they will start counting COVID-19 deaths correctly at some point rather than just assuming it if you tested positive and died of something else.

In the end, we won't know for sure for a while, but this is promising if true.

Yes. I live in Santa Clara County. We are doing well with social distancing.

Check out this site. The drop from atypical illnesses happened when we shut down everything.

Even then, the model is bullshite. There won't be 60,000 US deaths. Even the 14,000 or however many deaths right now are attributed to coronavirus is a bullshite number.

The average flu season isn’t close to 60K US deaths. Rush struck out.

According to the CDC the number of deaths related to this year's seasonal flu is 23,000 to 60,000.

And let's get one other thing straight, they said social distancing was not to help the spread, that was inevitable, social distancing was to flatten the curve so we wouldn't over load the hospitals all it once, they wanted the Chinese Flu to be spread over months so proper care could be administered as everyone was slowly infected.

I'm not letting revisionist history happen on my watch.

Well, I mean look how hard they’ve been hoping and working so hard: Russia-Russia, Stormy, Peach-Mints, Ukraine, and on and on and on. This pandemic might well represent the last, best hope they have to rid themselves of this bad man who is Orange. It has to be deflating for them to consider he would actually survive this!? He can’t keep getting away with it!!
