Yes. Dafoe gave a solid performance. Almost won me over until I reread Without Remorse.

Even Ford is a slight miscast. Something is off about him. On the Clancy front again - Pena as Ding is pretty bad. Should have been the dude from MI: 5

It may be a controversial hot take, but I think that Alec Baldwin came closest to capturing who Jack Ryan truly was, per Clancy's works.

You name the Sonic location to say this to my face. I’ll be there.

Heath Ledger in Brokeback Mountain. Should’ve used a huskier type and more of a baw.

Ozark captured the concept better than the movie could have.

not controversial at all, IMO. totally agree. i love Harrison Ford - one of my favorite actors of all time - but he did not fit the Jack Ryan of the book (although i still love the two Ford Clancy movies). young Alec Baldwin was definitely the closest to date.

I know a lot of old heads love him in it but not in a million years do I think Bruce Wayne would have short, curly, perm looking hair. Adam West, Christian Bale, and even Val Kilmer look like a better Bruce Wayne.

This is a popular one in miscast threads but I never minded this. I guess I just like the movie so much that I maybe overlook it. But trying to hold your own acting next to DDL as the Butcher is tough to do.

A recent one on my mind is Christopher Walken in Dune 2. He wasn't so bad where he dragged the movie down and I love CW, but it wasn't a great casting choice.

People complained about the casting back then too. I couldn't believe it when announced back then. Laughable
Mr. Mom was going to be Batman.

Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey in 50 shades. He's way too much of a fruit cake to pull off that character.

Should have cast Theo James. He is alpha enough to make that work.

Knowing this would require someone to have read the books AND watched the movies.

I, personally, feel it's very brave of you to come out like this.

Timothee Chalamet in Dune

He comes across as so angsty that you can’t really feel the weight of his moral decision to embody the prophecy. You think maybe he’s just being a pussy and then just finally nutted-up.

De Niro playing young Frank in the Irishman. De-aging has its limits. Should have chosen a young actor for the part.
