Untreated 4x4 post --- where the hell do I find one?

I'm going to build a new kitchen table and chairs soon and have everything except the 4x4's that I will end up using for the legs. I can't find an untreated 4x4 anywhere near me. I've searched and called all the lumber stores around me and nobody carries them untreated. Can't paint or stain treated lumber!
I'm in the BR area.

Home Depot. Never use treated indoors, good call.
If u cannot find 4x4, just rip and glue up to get a 4x4 post.

try the aisle with untreated lumber on it at Lowes or Home Depot
in all seriousness, I've bought untreated 4X4s from West Side Lumber.

Call Lowe's on Millerville. They have a decent untreated wood selection

Home Depot and Lowes were the first places I checked. None.

What kind of wood? Go to a wood craft shop and get long planks of rough cut.

Seriously? They're so wet it would take weeks, if not months, to dry them out sufficiently enough to paint.

Glue four 2x2's together.

Why is that?

I've seriously considered gluing two 2x4's together.

Wouldn't it be too wet to paint?

They usually don't carry untreated. I have bought some from Lowes before, but they don't always have them in stock.

why not two 2x4s? would be a hell of a lot easier

You don't want to do that, it won't be a perfect square because of the kerf of the sawmill blade. Four 2x2's will make a perfect square.
