If people stopped being offended for other people, we'd all be in a much better place.

Last name Apstein, made up racial grievances on behalf of other people, offensively ugly. I wish I were surprised at this point.

I can even see why Indians can also be seen as racist since the people who they refer to have never set foot in India.

Some one (probably a white liberal who are the clear authorities on the matter) should tell the millions of people who proudly call themselves "Indians" and refer to their land as "Indian Country" that they are supposed to be offended.

Just got a push notification from ESPN trashing Manfred for his defense of the name Braves lol. These people are way too bored.

It then declined significantly in the early 2000s, and has sped up even more.

Then why does no one complain about the Saints, Patriots, and Cowboys?

And our ancestors didn't try to erase them any more than they (the natives) tried to erase our ancestors. Where peace was possible, peace was made. Where it wasn't, well... there wasn't. Now we can sit here and cherry pick some incidents that took place where our government overstepped. Nobody is going to defend that any more than they will defend what our government is doing to us today. What does that have to do with a bunch of fans in a baseball stadium?

I think the article is silly, but this is equally as silly. It’s okay to admit our government did shitty things to natives 200 years ago. And LOL at it being comparable to “what out government is doing to us today.”

Lol. No they didn't. Or did you not see how that ticket "overcame" an insurmountable deficit while most of America was asleep? If you knew anything about Georgia, as a whole, you'd know that it isn't possible they voted for those two.

Ah, never mind. Politard spotted.

Indians and Redskins are pretty obvious especially with Cleveland’s mascot being a literal native with redskin, despite what some of the diehards and old heads think, I didn’t have much a problem with either change.

The Braves and their war chant however are different stories they’re not racist terms or racist images of natives, Brave is just a high class warrior in Native culture and their war chant is just an intimidation chant.

Oilers

Can’t believe we equate these humans with animals. Just disgusting.

I’ve never understood this argument. Is Houston dehumanizing astronauts? Are the Yankees dehumanizing northerners? Is Kansas City dehumanizing royalty?

There are a lot of mascots referencing different human groups, so I don’t understand why the only groups perceived as being dehumanized are those associated with Native Americans. Someone connect the gaps for me here:

It's like what Chappelle said in his latest stand up

Every bleeding heart is out there trying to put some bubble of permanent protection around select classes of people, for no reason other than the person screaming, "BECAUSE THEY NEED IT" when in reality said person doesn't do jack fricking shite to actually help the real issues those groups face.

Want to help Native Americans in this country? Maybe address the root causes behind the high alcoholism and drug use rates on reservations. Maybe address the cycle of poverty they face.

But no, a harmless chant used by fans in an honorific way is the real evil in this country.

When are the Jews going to atone for their genocide against Amalikites and the Jebusites, and the other Canaanite tribes they murdered?

Because public policy follows, ignoring it is why this country is in the mess it is now.
