It's not racist. It's annoying but the people are doing it out of good feelings and love for the team and the Braves identity. The nickname has been intended as an inspiration to a team. Something to look up to.

The funny part about all this is that Atlanta doesn't even play the chant anymore. They'll display the tomahawk chop. But it's really all on the fans who do the chat.
It's a great atmosphere to be in. And there is nothing about doing the chop or chant that makes me think less of any Native Americans. In fact, feel it's the opposite. It makes me actually want to learn about the culture
